OK, now here's the not so fun news.
The covid-19 virus has exploded all over
Thailand. Schools, malls, businesses,
wet markets, manufacturing, resorts
& just about everything is closed.
Our borders are porous and
illegal's pour in from all the
neighboring countries.
And, they work everywhere spreading
the virus like a common cold. The
small village we live in has been
infected, same with the small
town we border. It's out of
control in many of the
provinces around us.
IMO:
The same corruption that for a price
one can just cross the border has
brought this about at a rapid
uncontrolled pace ;-(-
No# 1 had a long talk with the nuns and
as much as they miss us they also said
to stay home and save yourself. They
are very excited to hear Mr Pipsqueak
is living with us all safe and sound. ;-)
When supplies run low I will sneak
out to The Bingo Room and do
a resupply for them. Monthly
injections are on hold for
the time being. And
that is temporary.
We'll just keep doing what
we do with what we have.

People having fun on the beach. I've tweaked the colours ever so slightly but apart from that it's OOC.
I finally managed a visit to Luna Park for some photos. I have only ever seen this wonderful face from the other side of the harbour, but as it was a beautiful day here in Sydney last Friday week, we decided to go for a drive. The park is free to enter and you pay for any rides that you wish to have and as I don't really enjoy the rides, I wandered around and took lots of photos - I love the bright colours.

Welcome to the FUN HAUS! A celebration of life, through death.
Upon entering, the curtains to the afterlife will be parted. You will face your greatest fears and will come out more alive than ever!
I have always been drawn to those colorful clay Mexican Day of the Dead skeletons, and Mexican style in general. There is so much oportunity to use patterns and crazy color schemes. I find that these translate very well into Lego. Not to mention that the fantasy castle skeleton faces make great Day of the Dead faces.
When I was younger I didn't understand what the Day of the Dead really stood for. I just thought the skeletons were kind of creepy and possibly evil. But the more I learned about it, I found it was really a celebration of Life. For one day and night (November 1st) families gather to remember all the friends and relatives that have passed away. They make decorative altars, use marigolds to decorate their homes, and make tons of skull themed food items. People visit the graves of their loved ones and leave gifts of food. There is singing and dancing, and a parade as well, where people dress up in fancy skeleton costumes with elaborate face painting. It is all very cool!
The Fun Haus captures some of the flavor of the Day of the Dead celebrations. But as with most of my works, there is a twist.
It is also influenced by the paintings of Pooch. Pooch is a very interesting artist with a great eye for making what I would call personality portraits, each with a mandatory roller coaster, pop culture elements and a taste for the macabre. Just like Day of the Dead, very cool!!

Fun Haus! is my attempt to combine these two elements, put them into a Moc that would hopefully be accepted into the Town and Train category at Brickcon, include a bunch of power functions features and hopefully entertain all of you!

This was done in the following steps...pencil sketch...paint...ink..more paint...more ink.
The background was done on wet paper...then paint...then WATER SPRAY MIST...more paint..more spray..tipping paper...letting it run and some blotting....:) Why I called it a fun painting...:) One of my favorite things about Watercolor....so many techniques that make the magic!
I'm traveling and staying at a modest hotel. It's fine but there aren't any fun things to do here. Well, except for dressing up that is, which is always a great possibility for fun times. So I opened my suitcase and took out some girly garments: pink satin top, black miniskirt, black stockings and golden sparkly heels. A bit of a coincidental mix-up yet still quite nice and definitely a joy to wear. Especially the short skirt works well with the stockings, showing my legs in a silky smooth sensual way.
