World Tour 2013 - 2014 - day 160
The old town in Dhulikhel is very small but the local ambiance is more authentically than in Katmandu traditional places. Since I liked the place and met some local people I stayed more than one week before leaving to Katmandu.
Some local children play in the street. Here they ware playing ropes and since it was funny I took a few pictures whom this portrait.
"Tens of millions" of butterflies are currently migrating through Brisbane in the prettiest storm right now, and apparently it only happens every six to 10 years. I'm grateful that they did this during the year I committed to taking a photo every day.

Jetstar A320 VH-VGF (aka The Jaffa Jet) flies over Christchurch at 36,000 feet on JQ279 Wellington to Queenstown service.
Jetstar is a wholly owned subsidiary of QANTAS, and flies internationally and domestically in Australia and New Zealand. Their "international" fleet of A320 aircraft can arrive here on an international flight from Australia, do a few days of domestic flights in New Zealand and then head back to Australia.
They service just five locations in New Zealand (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown). Up until about three months ago they also operated Dash 8 aircraft on some regional routes, but pulled out due to economic reasons (Air New Zealand would under cut them on those routes, while profiteering on the ones Jetstar didn't operate on).
This is full frame on a Canon APS-C camera with a 600mm f/4 lens and a 1.4x TC to give a 35mm equivalent on 1344mm.
As I post this image the plane is down to 6,000 feet on approach to Queenstown.

Slightly wider than 1/2 inch. Each mark is 1/16th of an inch and each larger one on the sides of the scale mark 1/4 inch.
Probably greater than 2:1 magnification.
A drake cinnamon teal calmly feeding in front of my portable blind at 6am in June near my home in Montana.
In the Swiss Alps near the Italian border is a small valley town called Lostallo. For the 5th summer in a row Shankra festival made this place its home for a goa-psytrance festival.

"Caol Ila 12 Year whispers the sounds of Islay with more nuanced, finessed aromas and flavors than most. At first sniff, hints of autumn rise out of the glass with apples, pears and scents of the season’s first fires. This is followed by vegetal notes of wet sea grass, and black tea. Rounding out the palate, flavors of spicy sweets and Applewood smoked ham are discovered before elegant peat smoke takes over. The whisky finishes with hints of tart green apple, spicy white pepper and a big salty sea smoke that lingers with memories of bonfires on the beach that burn long into the night. "
