Hier noch einmal der Jentower. Mit 144,5 m (bzw. 159,6 m) war dieses Hochhaus von 1972-1973 das höchste Haus in Deutschland.
So nun geht nach 10 Tagen meine Reise nach Hamburg und um die Mitte Deutschlands langsam zu Ende. Auf dem Heimweg gibt es dann noch Zwischenstops in Probstzella (einst einer der am strengsten kontrollierten Bahnübergänge DDR-BRD) sowie zum "Kleintettauer Zipfel" (Kuriosum der Deutschen Teilung: 3 bewohnte Häuser auf DDR-Territorium aber bereits auf der westlichen Seite der Mauer).

Here again the Jentower. At 144.5 m (or 159.6 m), this high-rise was the tallest building in Germany from 1972-1973.
So now, after 10 days, my trip to Hamburg and around the middle of Germany is slowly coming to an end. On the way home there are stops in Probstzella (once one of the most strictly controlled railway crossings between the GDR and FRG) and the "Kleintettauer Zipfel" (curiosity of the division of Germany: 3 inhabited houses on GDR territory but already on the western side of the wall) .

Tomorrow's MM is a plant in full frame so I have tried a few. This is the new leaf on my very small banana tree; three new ones have grown since I started making the Tibetan brass bowl sing to it (plus a lot of babies round the base, not sure what to do about them).

Dating back some 700 years and built adjacent to the ruins of nearby Dunskey Castle, Portpatrick's position on the Rhins of Galloway affords visitors views of the Northern Irish coast 21 miles (34 km) to the west, with cliff-top walks and beaches both north and south. The Gulf Stream, flowing in from the north, gives the coastline a pleasant climate, in which subtropical plant life can flourish.
Portpatrick has a Community Council,[5] and an annual Life Boat Week, featuring parades, activities, and a firework display.[6] There are bowls clubs, a golf club, many guesthouses and hotels, and rustic public houses. The village is also home to a mini putting course.
By the inner harbour is the starting point of the Southern Upland Way, a long-distance walking route to Cockburnspath on the east coast. The Portpatrick Hotel, built in 1905 and extended in 1907, sits on the cliffs above this point.
