When I walked to the post office this morning, it was -16F and my beard froze to my scarf. Makes me miss easy summer evenings all the more.

The Village des Bories near Gordes. Bories were built between XIV-th century to XIX-th century. The composed stones are slightly tilted towards the outside to assure a better waterproofness, a technique known since the prehistory. Some were used as houses while others were used for the animals or to stock agricultural material.

small, old but lovely building near my home.
I eat ramen in Fukuryumon and buy tons of beer at Takashima store :)
Unfortunately the building will be demolished at the end of April because of aging.

Between the Chicago postal service and bizarre weather, I haven't gotten mail yet this week. And while I hole up inside, scanning negatives from prior months, I am reminded of how much I love autumn. Photography has definitely shaped me, in that I can see something beautifully lit in nature and feel like I've seen something profound. Obviously, for practical matters we need things like money, but beyond that, so much of what we get out of life comes down to what we observe.
