"Frozen is the pond in the cold winter, but I know a wisp of water in it; there will never be a spring to ice. "
Meiji-ishin Tenno
Thanks for viewing, happy Sunday everyone :)
This is my first attempt at photographing frozen flowers. I tried shooting it on the lightbox and didn't like the images as much as this one. I added some texture in Photoshop for a little extra something. This ended up sliding a bit as the ice was melting making it a little more challenging. I decided to crush a few eggshells underneath it to try to anchor it and it worked fairly well except you can see some of them if you know they are there. My tulip is thawing and I hope there is still life in it for a few more photos.

Thank you for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HMM
It was a tad cold taking this picture. So much so that my tripod legs froze and I couldn't extend them until they defrosted. Then they froze again fully extended and I had a hard time fitting it into the car. First world problems... :D
Continuing with the C-O-L-D theme...
This image was captured within minutes of yesterday violet-hued picture featuring the 'icebergs'. You can see the same-colored sky here.
At -10 below zero, the water near the shore has frozen and that is the blue and white ice here in the foreground. The darker blue on the horizon are the large waves rolling in the open water.
Fortunately the temperatures have moderated in the last few days and we feel warm at 25 f. :)
Enjoy the cold with me here!

This was one of the rare really beautiful winter days. Usually snow is accompanied by a lack of sunshine here, which is sad because it looks so much better on a sunny day.
I attempted a quick go at freezing bubbles this afternoon. Not super sharp at all, and man they burst quickly! And since it's -25C (-34 with the windchill), I only lasted until the 'fluids' in my nose froze up! Maybe if it warms up to -20, I will give it another try :-)

Decided to take a quick trip to Yosemite yesterday morning. Couldn't of asked for a better sunrise as the warm sun lit up the frozen valley floor.
