A woman poses in a nurses uniform during the 2019 Texas Fort Muster event at the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas. The Texas Forts Muster celebration was created in 2001 to celebrate the heritage of Texas’ Frontier fort settlements, like Fort Worth. The Muster brings together authentic wagons, flags, music, colorful uniforms and military gear from several Texas frontier landmarks, as well as, re-enactors, musicians and other folks interested in Texas’ frontier history. The period of time covered by the celebration was the Texas frontier from the days of the early Republic in 1836, through the settlements on the frontier to the closing of the frontier by the late 1890s. I had a great time talking to re-enactors and taking photos at the event.
And it is truly the "Last Frontier". I now know why it is labeled this, for I saw with my own eyes.. High mountain peaks everywhere, glaciers as far as the eye can see, bald eagles soaring above, swans swimming in the roadside lakes and ponds, the sounds of wolves howling in the distance, waterfalls at every turn, black and brown bears roaming the streams and forests.... it has it all..
Do you want to go yet? ;-) I would highly recommend it, at least once in your lifetime.. :-) You won't be sorry... I promise..

Several weeks ago while visiting Wilderness Road State Park with my grandson, I noticed these items at the end of one of the cabins. I tried working the photo several different ways, including black and white, sepia, etc.., but finally settled on a high contrast to bring out the details in all the wood.
While stranded in the Denver airport for 2 days, I used the opportunity to practice aviation photography. There is a new outdoor deck that opened at the end of the B terminal. It had great views of the the Rockies, though I still had to shoot through glass.
