Philippe Bareille

The frontman of Blur, Damon Albarn organised a tour of Britain by rail for 85 African musicians who entertained at the many towns and cities at which the train called. It started from Euston on 2 September 2012 and finished at Kings Cross on 8 September. The train ran with a mixed-liveried rake of coaches but topped and tailed by DRS Class 47s numbered 47805 and 47810, both embellished with colourful maps of Africa on each buffer as well as a traditional headboard denoting the train's name, 'The Africa Express' and in this view taken at Undy, near Severn Tunnel Junction we see 47805 on 7 September leading 1Z71, the late-running 13.00 Cardiff Central to Bristol temple Meads.

For years, this was my main drag-about set for jams at friends' homes, etc. I since got an older Carvin X60 tube amp for my handy-dandy portable and fellow homesteader Jack Allardice uses the Frontman.

The Final War (Battle Of Actium).

E' Uscito a fine 2012 il 2° Album Caligvla. Per la realizzazione dell'album è stata richiesta la collaborazione della cantante dei Tristania, l'italiana Mariangela Demurtas.

"Good Vibes For Terri" - a benefit gig for 'godfather of punk' Terri Hooley. Terri founded the Good Vibrations record label and record store back in the 70s and had his life story told in the film of the same name in 2013.

Before Christmas 2014 Terri was taken ill and has been hospitalised for the forseeable future. Many of Terri's friends put together a benefit concert for him at the Limelight Belfast on Sunday 28 December 2014.

These lyrics to the Sly and the Family Stone 1969 hit "Hot Fun in the Summertime," were handwritten by frontman Sly Stone. The song peaked at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. Active from 1966 to 1983, Sly and the Family Stone were pivotal in the development of funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music.

The Musical Crossroads exhibit, part of the Culture Galleries on the fourth floor of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, tells the story of African American music from the arrival of the first Africans to the present day.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), administered by the Smithsonian Institute, was established in December 2003 and opened its permanent home in September 2016. The 350,000-square-foot, 10-story (five above and five below ground) was built to the postmodern design of Phil Freelon's Freelon Group, Sir David Adjaye's Adjaye Associates and Davis Brody Bond. The above ground floors feature an inverted step pyramid surrounded by a bronze architectural scrim, which reflects a crown used in Yoruba culture. With more than 40,000 objects in its collection, although only about 3,500 items are on display, the NMAAHC is the world's largest museum dedicated to African-American history and culture.

The Smithsonian Institution, an educational and research institute and associated museum complex, administered and funded by the government of the United States and by funds from its endowment, contributions, and profits from its shops and its magazines, was established in 1846. Although concentrated in Washington DC, its collection of over 136 million items is spread through 19 museums, a zoo, and nine research centers from New York to Panama.

Blue album print by John Baizley, frontman of Baroness, printed by Burlesque.

I didn't realize at the show this is a set of two prints (the other being the other half of the album cover), and only bought this one. Luckily a friend picked me up the other print at the Houston show the next night and they'll both be framed soon.
