Former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page wasn’t exactly naked at the PNE 2010 concert on Sep 04, 2010, but he laid bare his soul simply by being himself. During the concert, he focused on establishing himself as a new solo artist happy to have left the group that had made him well-known and which he had also made famous in return. He acknowledge that part of the history, made references to it frequently but also hinted that he had moved on.
In the Vancouver concert, he sang songs from his latest solo album Page One including Clifton Springs and All The Young Monogamists and covered a few old material as well, notably Jane and Brian Wilson which he wrote himself some 20 years ago. This is a new Steven Page we are seeing. A bit goofy yet with much seriousness about his work though you may not feel it and even if he was simply doing a bit of tango on stage.

Hiding shyly behind frontman William Beckett is Adam T. "Sisky Business" Siska. Adam came on during the Cobra Starship set to replace Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy's rap in the song "Snakes On a Plane." I was only able to get one shot of that moment, because it's a quick rap, but it turned out much too blurry to be edited.
That's what you have memories for.

The West London boys kicked off their first tour in a while with the opening of the newly renovated (or rather, still being built!) Electric Brixton - formerly The Fridge - in London. A slightly smaller affair than their 5-night residency at the nearby Brixton Academy back in 2006.

News of Boney M frontman Bobby Farrell’s death saddens me. I was 7 and living in Hong Kong when their huge hit Daddy Cool came out in 1978. My father loved their songs and I hated the group, probably because I was simply scared by people who didn’t look like "one of us". But, like many others, I grew into my dad’s mindset without even knowing. Recently I came across vintage footages of their performance and I simply fell in love with them!
Their catchy songs, music and lyrics are no longer scary. Their outfits and hairdos are still outrageous and crazy, but way cool! I now only wish that I can sing and dance like they did!

An unnerving portrait of Sponge Cola frontman, Yael Yuzon. Sponge Cola, a popular Filipino rock band, performed at the 2009 UST Freshmen Welcome Walk Concert on July 24, 2009. He decided to get off the stage to reach out to the crazy crowd behind me. Because of unexpected situations like this I wish I had a second body with my wide angle zoom lens attached to it. With a slow 70-300mm, I only got this tight paparazzi style shot.
