The front of the castle, with the main entrance clearly visible. The main entrance was built to look like this a long time after the rest of the castle was built, probably with the intention of making it look more impressive.
April 18, 2012 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Doolittle Raid...the "30 Seconds Over Tokyo" raid led by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle when 16 North American B-25 Mitchell medium bombers were launched from the carrier USS Hornet to attack targets in Japan.
In a tribute to the five surviving Doolittle Raiders...and to the memory of the other 75...20 B-25's gathered at the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The planes flew a massed Memorial Flight over the Museum to commemorate the anniversary of the raid.
Activities during the week-long event included meet-and-greets with the Raiders and displays with the aircraft...some of which even sold rides at Grimes Field in nearby Urbana, OH.

Or you could just stroll up-and-around the Fabulous NY-NY Resort Campus taking Flickr pictures until something strikes your fancy. But before you do anything grand and wonderful, don’t you think you should get dressed and head on down and have breakfast first? Don’t you think... 😷😎🤔

We return to the odd music shop known as Store Front for our sophomore episode, only this time everyone has a name.
It's the night before Halloween and all is more weird then usual at Store Front. The store owner Mr Hondo is obsessed with sending out Halloween holiday emails he thinks would bring in more customers. The computers are attached by a mysterious video spam. The mobile geek network is called for help only the geek drinks the coffee and is changed forever. A scary halloween mannequin arrives and a little after people start disappearing..... oh yeah and someone realy die's.

This morning, 4/30/2015, I returned to the small wetland creek area that I visited yesterday morning. I added female Black-fronted Forktail images to the male and immature female images that I took yesterday morning. Again, I had to lay on my belly using my elbows as a tripod, often in either slightly damp conditions or hard-packed soil with small, scattered rocks in order to capture these very small forktail images, the smallest damselflies that I have seen. Although I observed 2 Flame Skimmers, 3-4 male California Dancers and 8-10 Vivid Dancers during the 1 1/2 hours that I was at this location, I focused all of my attention on the Black-fronted Forktails. As my knees and elbows have taken a beating trying to capture these images I won't be returning to this location until my knees and elbows have recovered.
I need to decide which of these will be displayed as the back and which as the front. They are each a piece of a diptych, except one needs to have the back exposed instead of the front. I'm leaning towards the bottom one as the back and the top as the front, what do you think?

The Siege of Chester was a siege of the First English Civil War, between February 1645 and January 1646, with an intermission during the summer of 1645.
From the beginning of the war, the city of Chester was held by forces loyal to the King. It was first besieged in late 1644, but was relieved in March 1645 by Prince Maurice. With fighting continuing around Cheshire, the siege was not pursued again in earnest until September 1645, continuing ferociously until the following January. At the Battle of Rowton Heath in September, King Charles himself failed to lift the siege, suffering a disastrous defeat.
Throughout the siege, which varied considerably in intensity, the garrison was commanded by Lord Byron, who in the final months strongly defended the city against great odds. In January 1646 faced by the starvation of the inhabitants, Byron was persuaded to surrender, and the city was occupied by forces of the New Model Army under Sir William Brereton.
