Say goodbye to the "Ole Pig" and hello to "Lupo"! I've spent some time upgrading my Abrams (really Andrew Somers' Abrams with my tweaks).
Changes include:
- Rebuilt the rear end of the turret to make the overall length about half a stud shorter
- Moved the CITV (commander's sight) back away from the front of the turret
- New gun shield for the loader's machine gun
- Rebuilt the main gun barrel and moved the bore evacuator away from the muzzle
- New Combat Identification Panels (CIPs) are a little less chunky than the old ones
- Rebuilt the side skirts to make them less chunky (thicker might be ok for reactive armor, but I didn't like the look) and cover the length of the tank in a better way
- Rebuilt the top engine covers so that they are removable plates rather than hinged, and used the space I saved to drop in an engine
- Driver's station now has a complete set of controls
Let me know what you think!
Most of my front aisle photos posted in the past from this location have been taken on the other side of the store, so here's one for a change taken in the middle of apparel, which comprises the majority of the right end of the store.

I did not pack my wide angle lens this trip, so I created a synthetic wide angle by orienting my phone into portrait and shooting a panorama. By moderating my horizontal range of motion to a smaller area than is typical for panoramas, and utilizing the greater space afforded by the vertical orientation of the camera, I was able to achieve a "synthetic" wide angle shot. This also allowed me to crop out distorted areas from the top and bottom of the image, as one tends to see from typical panoramic images.

This is the first Kmart I've been in (within the last decade at least) that had the electronics department located along the front wall. Appliances were oddly located in front of the pharmacy as well!
According to this document, on the Colbert County Alabama assessor's site, this Kmart's "effective year built" is 1975, though it looks like it has a newer-era facade. Perhaps it was updated during a dreaded "Big K" makeover! This store number is 7045, and I did find this post stating that most of the "7xxx"-numbered stores were built in the 70's, but I'm still going to leave a question mark on year-built for the time being...

Not long ago I came across an educational video that suggested LED lights placed near to the camera lens could create an interesting effect for portraiture. With small strings of LED lights being very reasonable in price to obtain, I thought I'd give the technique a try.
For this image, I hung purple LED lights about a foot in front of the lens.

I finally decided to make a front cover for this project that i posted a while ago. Especially since I found some 1.25" o-wires for my Bind-it-All! Chipboard cover, all letters and numbers (3 was originally an 8 and cut it down) are AC, label is a free download from giverslog.com. Go to the right and scroll down until you get to free printables. Then search for the labels. Stay awhile, because it's a great blog.

Waist defining
The “front tuck” is one of the best styling tricks, ever! I particularly like to use it to define the waist when I wear a top over a dress. In that case, I tuck into a belt, instead of a waistband.
Expect the front tuck sweater styling trick to be on repeat this fall and winter. It’s such an easy way to add warmth and interest, but preserve shape, when layering over a dress.
This red sweater is a twin to the bronze sweater I also thrifted.
