Freshly re-painted BR Blue Union Jack liveried 47580 'County of Essex' stands at Thuxton (Mid-Norfolk Railway) after arriving in with the 10:00 service from Derehem. The loco had been repainted to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. 47580 managed to work the 10:00 and 12:00 departures, before falling with a suspected oil leak. BR Breen D1933 (47596), the shunt loco for the day, stepped in to work the last 14:00 and 16:00 departures. Published in 'The Railway Magazine' July 2022 issue.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I'm certain that there is some eye contact behind those mirrored shades! These mirrored sunglasses keep catching my eye recently on the street and, on occasion, I have been known to just Photoshop my own reflection out of them to avoid distracting from the story that I am telling. Despite, for once, looking slim in the reflection on these glasses I did remove myself from one lens. I didn't want to be part of the story here. Enjoy!
The day after Christmas 2014 finds an OCS move idling at the picturesque passenger station in Jim Thorpe. A number of holiday visitors take a peek at the freshly repainted ex-ATSF GP30s, now classed as GP39RNs by the Reading & Northern.
In Wyoming’s Powder River Basin, a southbound Burlington Northern coal train recedes in the distance moments after meeting a Chicago & North Western train at Antelope siding on July 4, 1989. Three C&NW EMD SD60s and a Union Pacific EMD SD60M power the northbound train. Most of the Orin line was still single track at this point, with plenty of meets going on between trains. When they were new or freshly repainted, C&NW locomotives dressed in Zito yellow didn’t look too bad.

"Orange and Blue" for Macro Mondays.
My wife is a weaver and a master at the color wheel. This is a tiny part of a scarf that she wove that illustrates a piece of music in color and pattern. The snow is from our recent April Fools (unfortunately real) snow storm.
