Mono Lake is an iconic location in the Eastern Sierras and is why I always include a sunrise shoot at this location on my Eastern Sierra Fall Spectacular Photo Workshop Tour. While rainbows are never guarenteed we can thank the photography gods for the ones that do appear at a place of such beauty. I preffer sunrise at this location over sunset as the angle of light is lower as the White Mountians are much further away on the eastern horizion than the Sierra's are on the western horizion. Not to say that you cannot get a good image at sunset here, I am just speaking from experience that I often have better luck at sunrise. Just one of the reasons you would take a workshop tour with an instructor that knows when and where the best light will likely be had to improve your chances of getting better results. The workshop is intended for people who wanted to learn photography may it be DSLR camera owner or not. Reservation is thru downpayment scheme.
This is a Starter Series. "Fresh Start" is about Basic Photography and it will be followed by "Quick Start" where you will learn fast post processing techniques. Another series on the line is the "Head Start" where you will learn Portraiture using Ambient light, Strobe light and retouching. Meron pa isang series shooting food and products but it will not be called Corn Start :) Let me think for that hehehe!

Okay, I'm back! Got a new camera to replace the one that was stolen, repaired the window in my old busted and I'm ready to take on this mutha again! Starting fresh with the 365... Might as well start it off by shaking my flabby face back and forth and using the high speed capture. Wheeeee!

Project 365 - Day 24 (24 Jan 10)
This is a photo I've entered into a competition where I work. They have regular competitions to "inspire people's creativity" and winning entries are published on the intranet as well as printed on canvas and hung in the various sites the company operates in.
The theme for the latest competition was "FRESH START" so I set up these shots in my kitchen yesterday, next to the back door which was my main light source. I prefer natural lighting when shooting food as it helps maintain a more natural cast.
I used some white reflections to tone down the shadows a little as well, although I was quite happy to have the little shadow that was left.
