So, I went to my local Ralphs Supermarket today to buy some Valentines Day presents (I know, Procrastination, thy name is Edwin!) So anyways, this store looks normal, right? WRONG! It seems that this Ralphs Supermarket is closing, I know, I was shocked when my dad pointed the sign out at the entrance, Ralphs at California Oaks is not going with a BANG but with a whimper, let's go in!
Fresh Produce and fruits at Ralphs.

Fresh Snowfall
(Kay Hoffman)
A fresh snowfall in winter
Always brings my heart delight
When I waken in the morning
To a wonderland of white.
No pathway leading here or there
To mark the hurried pace,
Just fragile etchings in the snow
That wayward branches trace.
How cozy rests each little home
Knee-deep in drifts of snow;
Smoke curling up from chimneys
Adds to the friendly glow.
Fir trees don a regal look
In lavish ermine wrap;
Lampposts too, wear winter's best
White muffler and top hat.
Our little town so peaceful is
A wonderland of white,
A picture postcard sent from God
To bring our hearts delight.
We take for granted the fresh product all around us living on the islands. Eggs from farm to shelf in a day. Or if you seek, farm to your table same day.
I was busy taking pictures of my purchases from the local market when the waiter from the lounge bar knocked at the door.... He brought me a dish of fresh cut fruit. Isn't that sweet?
Thick and warm unagi syrup coats each tender nugget of the bite of sushi rice cowering beneath the shelter of its rich fresh water eel covering. Adding bright grassy and floral aromas was the sprig of ?? that I had encountered before during a kaiseki meal at Tokyo's Kisso but one whose name still evades me. It remained a mystery even after asking Chef Kaji about it.
Update: I think it just might be a kinome leaf.
My first thought was 'fresh as a daisy', don't think this is technically a daisy, 'Fresh Flowers' works too tho :)

One of the two fresh air ducts underneath the Queensway tunnel. There is one duct either side of Central Avenue. The roof of this structure is the roadway.
I love seeing the vegetables displayed in the villages as we are travelling around the UK - most of our small fruit shops have disappeared after being taken over by the "big boys".
I am EXTREMELY behind on photos! D=
Brian's parents are in Florida right now and came to visit over the weekend; so, that means that I had zero time to sit and edit the hundreds of photos that I took while we went out sight seeing with them.
This was taken down town along the waterfront in St. Marys. We were walking along one of the docks when we saw a man pulling a net out from the water and dumping something onto the dock. Those somethings were flopping around like crazy! But I couldn't quite tell what they were; I thought that they look almost like worms! Brian's mom must have been wondering the same thing because she asked what the heck they were and the man says in a very friendly voice, "It's shrimp!" I immediately got excited! I have never seen shrimp caught fresh out of the water before! I don't know what on earth possessed me to ask him if I could take a photo because usually I am too shy. I am so glad that I did because this is one of the coolest captures! We stopped and chatted with him for a few more minutes before heading back to our apartment. His friendliness made me realize that there are still friendly people out there. Southern hospitality never ceases to amaze me. =]
I used a new photo editing website because my picnik premium account expired and we can't afford to renew it right at this time. Thanks Sarah for the recommendation! It took me forever to figure it out and I am still trying to get the hang of it, so I apologize if any photos look over edited. I really hope to get my hands on photo shop soon!
But yes, lots of uploads are coming! :D
A wide variety of fresh fish and seafood products are available in the market. This part of the market had a very distinctive odour!
