UP 5966 leads a detouring UP MYCAS at Grimsby, IL. In a few miles, the train will turn north onto the Chester Subdivision at Gorham for the trip to the A&S yard at East St.Louis. I was told that this train usually operates via the Pana Sub into East St. Louis.

Fresh Fields was a natural food market chain that was founded in the early 1980s in Maryland. It later expanded to the Philadelphia-New Jersey, New York and Chicago markets. It was acquired by Whole Foods Market in 1996.
When the Whole Foods Market I work at opened in 1998, the Fresh Fields name was still used here in the Philly market with a mention of Whole Foods Market. I spotted this sticker from that era under a table in the Cafe when the floor cleaners turned them over to clean under, it survived all these years.
Farm Fresh was grocery chain owned by SUPERVALU until May 2018 when the vast majority of locations were sold to either Kroger or Food Lion.
The handful of Farm Fresh locations that remained were either closed or sold to independents (like the one pictured above) that continue to operate the stores under the Farm Fresh banner while being supplied by SUPERVALU (now UNFI).

Hit the mountains at 9:00am this morning to get fresh powder. Its nice to be the first one to lay down some fresh tracks. Didn't bring the DSLR out today fearing a crash on the icy patches and slippery frozen roots.

Fresh Pea Soup topped with bacon and parmigiano cheese served with a chilled Chardonnay. Food styling by wife :) This photo is part of "The Culinary Project".
It is a Finnish tradition to eat pea soup on Thursdays. For the first time, we used fresh summer peas which made the soup sweeter and the green color turned out much more vivid than when using frozen peas.
The photo to the left is with natural light only (backlit with window light), while the photo to the right is 100% lit with a studio strobe.
Strobist information:
Backlit with a single studio strobe in a soft box, and a long reflector was positioned on the other side to lift some of the shadows from the plate. The spoon was shot separately with the soft box positioned camera right and above the spoon. The two shots where then put together in post.
We (my Mom, my 12yo daughter, and I) took our snowshoes out for a walk today. It's wonderful what a bit of fresh air and exercise can do for one's outlook.

This location opened in June 1994 and closed on October 9th, 2019. The left part of the building became The Kensington School in November 2021, the middle part remains vacant, and the right part became Chesapeake Bank Tech Center on May 1st, 2021.
And like that, I've now documented every Farm Fresh location on the peninsula. Hooray for me! This is important because the Farm Fresh brand may very soon be extinct: parent company SuperValu recently sold off the majority of these FF stores to Kroger/Harris Teeter and Food Lion, and those stores will be converted within the next few months. The future is unknown for the few stores that didn't get sold, such as the one pictured, but there are potential buyers looking into them. Those stores will most likely not be operating as Farm Fresh, though. Since I believe store closing sales began on Friday I'd like to shop at a few of these locations and get some interior shots before they're gone for good.
