Took advantage of the cold weather and calm winds last week to experiment with freezing bubbles.

Had to use a close up filter to get these pictures (the bubbles I was getting to last long enough to freeze were all really small).

Yesterday I watched the icicles accumulate outside the window.

The days are getting longer now, but it is still very cold here. Only a few days above 0°C since early October, more than 3 month in the deep freezer... But it is very beautiful :)

First light revealed a magical crust of freezing rain on our cedar hedge. The orange sparkles here are reflected off a street light.

The fog came down mid-morning and has persisted so now, down over the River Wharfe here in Otley, West Yorkshire, it's a murky, cold evening.

Layers of Freezing Rain Coated everything, closed school, and provided interesting photo oppertunities.
