Passing one of the frozen ponds by Rothwell Country Park, Northern Rail 150218 is within just a few miles of its destination with a Sheffield - Leeds Local.

This image is made up from a number of frames, focus stacked to try to keep the whole image, front to back in focus.

I’ve put together a short video and this is one of a number of images taken whilst out on a local lockdown walk.

One of the waterfalls I made it to last year during our winter freeze. It was one of a couple at the top of my list of places to visit last year. I've got a few different places I'm hoping to hit this year. Hopefully I'll luck out with the work schedule like last year.

The seasons go on!

My hosts took me to admire this frozen cliff about 25 ft high and topped by frozen trees.

An icy mist hung in the air as the sun rose in the Hudson Valley this morning. Our first serious freeze of the season.

Sometimes I freeze...until the light comes

Sometimes I fly...into the night

Sometimes I fight...against the darkness

Sometimes I'm wrong...sometimes I'm right

Sometimes I freeze

Sometimes I fight

Sometimes I fly

It seems like I caught this exploding milkweed in a type of freeze frame as it emerges from these pods in the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, September 24, 2023.

I have something in my eye 👀

Fosters Freeze is a chain of fast-food restaurants in California. It was founded by George Foster in 1946 on La Brea Avenue in Inglewood, California, a location that still remains. Wikipedia

After getting their train together the Springdale Local rolls through down as they get ready to work the Freeze N Store with a number of refrigerated Reefers in the days train.

John Flower and I had another day at the Imperial Bird of Prey Academy, Barleylands Farm Billericay Essex.

We spent the day with Professional Wildlife Photographer Robin Lowry who gave us a fantastic time with some excellent photography tips.

My entry was voted 5th the standard was superb so I was pleased with my effort, This was my last shot of the day Shadow missed my head by fractions an amazing experience.

These three were being really leery of me and every time I moved they would freeze.

When the water stand still in the air.

Finally managed to get something better.

:P

Stop..! Don't Shoot !

So cold.

Everything is covered with frost, even rocks.

Here is chicken little posing and waiting for some noodles.

Looks like history repeats itself. The major winter storm hitting Colorado from Wednesday into Friday is bringing a lot of heavy wet snow with it, expected to pile up 3-4 feet of snow in some places in the mountains. 3 years ago today, we had up to 23 inches of snow within 2 days. We have received 20 inches of snow in our area yesterday.

Behind a 4 Pack of EMD SD70MACs Alaska Railroad's Southbound Road Freight 130S leaves Fairbanks behind for it's journey south toward Anchorage.

The train is seen going through an interesting stretch of railroad with a pair of small sags in the roadbed that to me seem to be the product of the constant freeze and thaw of the ground this far north.
