Here is Mr Crissy posing for a photo, while eating. If you zoom in you can see my reflection in his eye.
I found these icicles on Cypress Mountain at around -10 degrees Celcius. 我在山頂找到這些冰凍的瀑布,晚間的氣溫應該在零下10度左右。感到寒意了嗎?

On my walks and hikes in the winter, I think the light is especially beautiful in the afternoon. When the sun goes down and the sparkling crystals from the frost rest on plants and trees, that shine so beautifully against the sky that eventually gets the deep blue color. Even though it's cold, I do not freeze/feel cold. I get warm at heart and grateful just by being present!
First freeze, Middle Decatur Bend State Wildlife Management Area, backwaters of the Missouri River, near Onawa Iowa. This channel was the main channel of the Missouri many years ago until flooding changed the course of the mighty Mo.
I was not sure what to do for this week having tried something last night and it didn't work.
So I decided to buy some lighter fluid and mix Ice with Flames for a hot/cold mix.
I composed this with three inches on the short side of the photo so therefore cropped it to a square.
Although it’s been hitting -10 here most days in the last week it has given rise to some beautiful conditions. This is some of the best hoar frost and freezing fog I think I have ever witnessed!
This is near Freeze, Idaho on the Palouse Prairie. The sun was just breaking through the fog and highlighting the little shack and showing off the rolling prairie textures.
Amazing how mother nature paints its own beauty, this was the pattern on my car windsceen early one morning..
Young vineyards, our gold. We got serious freeze three or four mornings at the spring of this this year and damage on blooming bush was huge.
I put this photo in HI res (2000pix on long edge) for once specially for Warren (fasene) :)
