The Karawari River is one of the wildest places I’ve ever visited, and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to share my images with you. I’ve never been to a place that had such a feeling of disconnect from the modern world – the villagers living along the Karawari engaging in subsistence fishing and farming as they have for centuries, kids spend most of their day playing on the river and not staring at cell phones, and community unity is, above all else, the key to growth and prosperity. The people we met all along the Karawari were warm, friendly and open – they wanted to share with us stories of life along the river, their customs, and their games. And the kids just wanted to play. My visit to Papua New Guinea was the trip of a lifetime in every sense of the word – it changed forever the way I’ll look at new experiences.
