The Green Heron that flew up and almost landed on top of me wasn't my only encounter with them on that day!! Not only did I come across a few more but they were very cooperative and all willing to do a bit of posing!! This is another of my little green buddies that I found doing a bit of spear fishing on Armand Bayou!

Glasgow band, Freelance Liars. Their debut EP, Good & Gone, has just been released on iTunes.
The boring photo details: it's a bokeh panorama stitched from 37 shots taken wide open on the Nikkor 85mm F1.8. Before cropping, the stitched file was 409 MP with an effective focal length of 25mm and an effective aperture of 0.53.
A bit of a change from the usual landscapes but, after some extensive PP (which pushed my PC memory a little beyond what it's accustomed to dealing with), I'm reasonably pleased with the results.

El gat o moix (Felis silvestris catus) és un petit mamÃfer carnÃvor domèstic. El gat ha estat en convivència propera amb els humans des de fa uns 9.500 anys,una data molt anterior a les estimacions prèvies, que en fixaven la domesticació a fa entre 3.500 i 8.500 anys.
Els noms actuals més generalitzats en moltes llengües d'Europa (gat, cat, chat, gatto, gato, Katze, katt, kat, etc.) deriven del mot llatà vulgar cattus,paraula que al·ludia especÃficament als gats domèstics en contraposició als gats salvatges que, en llatÃ, eren anomenats felis. N'hi ha dotzenes de races, algunes sense pèl o sense cua com a resultat de mutacions genètiques, i n'hi ha una gran varietat de colors. Són experts predadors i poden caçar més de mil espècies diferents d'animals per alimentar-se.També són animals que poden assimilar certs conceptes, i alguns poden ser entrenats per manipular mecanismes senzills, com ara per girar els panys de les portes. Es comuniquen amb miols, gemecs, xiulets, grunyits i aproximadament un centenar de vocalitzacions diferents,a més del llenguatge corporal.
El gato o gato doméstico (Felis silvestris catus) es un pequeño mamÃfero carnÃvoro de la familia Felidae. El gato está en convivencia cercana al hombre desde hace unos 9.500 años, periodo superior al estimado anteriormente, que oscilaba entre 3.500 y 8.000 años.
Los nombres actuales más generalizados derivan del latÃn vulgar catus, palabra que aludÃa especialmente a los gatos salvajes en contraposición a los gatos domésticos que, en latÃn, eran llamados felis.
Hay docenas de razas, algunas sin pelo o incluso sin cola, como resultado de mutaciones genéticas, y existen en una amplia variedad de colores. Son expertos depredadores que cazan más de cien especies diferentes de animales para alimentarse. También son animales que pueden asimilar algunos conceptos, y ciertos ejemplares pueden ser entrenados para manipular mecanismos simples.
Se comunican con gemidos, gruñidos y alrededor de un centenar de diferentes vocalizaciones,además del lenguaje corporal.
Se cree que el gato salvaje africano (Felis silvestris lybica) es su ancestro más inmediato.
Sin embargo, al tratarse de una subespecie puede intercambiar (y de hecho lo hace) material genético con otras subespecies de Felis silvestris. Se ha detectado hibridación con el gato montés europeo (Esta hibridación masiva se considera la principal amenaza para la conservación de las variantes salvajes).

This is a domestic cat that probably belongs to someone in my neighborhood, but it spends most of its time freelancing. It has decided it owns my house, and it makes itself comfortable in my backyard.
