Freedom
Sometimes freedom is in the air
You can feel it
Why wait for it - or look for it
It has always been here
It belongs to your soul
so you never will find it outside

The largest fireworks display in the Midwest blasted off in Columbus during the blue hour. That cast a nice soft light over a lone island on the river which turned into a party of kayakers.
The small white banner on the right reads revolution.
They were chanting a famous slogan / catchword
"İsyan, Devrim, Özgürlük"
which may translate into English as "Revolt, Revolution, Freedom"

It's been 12 long weeks but I have freedom at last! No more casts or special boots or hospital appointments for my ankle!
There is no greater feeling of freedom than the open road. This was taken on Natchez Trace Parkway, a footpath in the 1800's traveled by traders, soldiers, and Indians.
I really liked the sense of freedom and peace of mind making this stop going to Hofn.

We can go out the front door or out the back gate and be walking in the bush in minutes; we don't take it for granted but it is a wonderful freedom, especially in these days of restrictions.

Daily Dog Challenge: Freedom
There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask "What if I fall?"
Oh but my darling,
What if you fly?”

This afternoon I quickly took my new angel into the garden to take a photo of her. It is a gift from a good friend and she is named the Angel of Freedom from the Willow Tree Collection. It was given to me as a retirement present. It's truly how I feel now. It has been a busy week of finalizing things at work and celebrating with friends and colleagues. But I am looking forward to the freedom to spend more time with family and friends in real time; to go on adventures whenever we want instead of trying to get vacation time off; to not watch the clock as much; to spend longer times exploring my photography and to have more time to connect with online Flickr photographers. It's a great feeling.....finally!
