For plant material, scrub-jays eat acorns and grass seeds; sunflower seeds and peanuts at feeders; as well as cultivated corn, almonds, walnuts, and cherries.

One interesting medical fact about Black Sage is that it possesses anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. This makes it beneficial for treating skin conditions like acne, dermatitis, and fungal infections such as Athlete’s foot. Additionally, its natural anti-microbial nature supports wound healing by preventing infection and promoting tissue regeneration1. So, not only is Black Sage a beautiful plant, but it also has these wonderful healing properties that have been recognized in traditional medicine.
