"Break Free"
This location is one of the most popular photo spots in Seattle, and therefore it is very difficult to not have your vision overly influenced by work of others. I intent to not recreate what most other photographers had already done and to capture an image that is unique to what I saw and how i felt.
I believe that a good photographer should not find him or herself restrained in any way by photography rules, people's opinion, or the gears they have. "the best camera you have is the one with you. " Whether it's about taking pictures with your phone or breaking the compositional rule, we all need to find that opening through the fence to reach the other side. Hence, break free!

y sons have bought me a set of posca markers for fathers day and i love 'em! (both the boys and the pens!)
i know, i know. its not fathers day in the uk for a couple of weeks but i felt it important to test them out ;)
seriously, these pens are going to speed up my painting output dramatically. i had these blocks of wood drawn out and painted in one one hour session and did all the black pen work with 3 different sized poscas in another hour. if i was working with a brush it'd take an hour for each piece at least.
these pieces, painted on mdf offcuts about 20 x 7 cm are heading out on the streets. i'm planning to screw them to some wooden posts i've spotted on a major road into the city(the eastern road for those in the know). something slightly longer term than most of my free art, giving me a little more exposure.
of course if someone takes a fancy to them they are welcome to come down with a screwdriver and take one home!!

São Paulo não existe mais. Existe a ficção amorosa, a minha tentativa de amar o próximo. Laços de sangue não são garantia. Ele me lê equivocadamente. Prometo não telefonar mais. Talvez João esteja certo e nenhum tipo de família é saudável. Nesse tempo de agora as drogas são extremamente necessárias, principalmente a família. O drama é a dependência, o vício. Marco passagem, me desligo temporariamente do face. Pura necessidade de escuro, de ouvir a respiração, entender o que se passa no centro. Esquecer o passe. Rezar a noite toda, por eles todos, por mim, por poder me manter órfão, só é em paz... Quem reconstrói corações? Tenho uma promessa , um pedido. Quero Clara aqui. Amando pelos poros. Falo sério, sou franco, me dói fazê-la sofrer. Já pedi perdão, mudei de língua, mas só consegui quebrar as asas. O amor foi fraco. Os anjos se recusaram a me ensinar a língua .

Eine kleine Impression von unserem Kurztrip in die Dolomiten an meinem Geburtstag. Vielen Dank an meinen großartigen Mann, der mich die letzten Monate so sehr unterstützt, umsorgt und geerdet hat. Vielen Dank für die Zeit, die du mir gegeben hast.
Diese kurze Auszeit nur zu zweit war genau das richtige für uns.
Wieder einmal "frei" von allen Sorgen, Verpflichtungen und Fesseln des Alltags. Das Ziel ;) ist für mich dabei gar nicht so wichtig, sondern das wir so etwas gemeinsam erleben.

This short time-out for just two was just the right thing for us.
Once again "free" from all worries, obligations and shackles of everyday life. The goal ;) is not so important to me, but that we experience something like this together.
