The community that founded this church began in the early 1870's by a group of freedmen & their families. Those 14 families organized this church in 1873. Its bell still hangs in its tower.

From my new 'Summer' series from Iceland.
A perfect morning on the fjords outside of Akureyri, in the north of Iceland. With whales, dolphins and birds its an amazing place. Chasing the birds on this trip gave me a new found respect for birth photographers, its a hard art to master! Happy with this gull, gliding over the mirror like surface of the fjord.
Looks best on black.

Monte Vettore is a mountain on the border between Umbria and the Marche, in central Italy. It is part of the Sibillini mountains range and lies in the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. Today climbers reach it from the Umbrian side from Norcia, or, on the Marche side, from Ascoli Piceno. Below the peak, in a small enclosed valley is one lake called the Lago di Pilato, at an altitude of 1,940 metres, where the body of a remorseful Pontius Pilate was buried in the waters.[1]
9 weeks after his knee surgery Oscar got the clearance from the Vet to graduate from the small room he has been kept in since the operation to being allowed leash walks and can play in the yard. The only restriction he has is no power running or ball chasing for another 3 to 4 weeks. I can't wait to take my boy to the dog park again!! Oscar injured his leg at the end of May so we are all very happy it is almost OVER.
In this photo you can see his fur has not yet completely grown back on his left leg

Grape vines cut from oaks. The vines grow upward draging the trees to the ground. To free the trees, we cut them at the ground, coming back after they've died to pull them down.
