Fragrant Water-Lily (Nymphaea odorata) at Stafford Forge WMA

These flowers bloom on a trellis at my neighbor's house. They are small, but very fragrant and beautiful. I took a scant few and put them into this tiny vase that was handmade by my dear friend Kathy O'Shea. The little arrangement looks perfect in my tiny bathroom.

Common name: Coast azalea

Family: Ericaceae

Coast azalea (R. atlanticum) has especially fragrant white to light pink flowers and bluish green foliage. Coast azalea is native in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern coastal states where it grows as a twiggy, low-growing shrub in forest understories.

Fraxinus cuspidata I always liked the "Fringe Tree" , but these are just as pretty and smell sweet too.

When H. 'Flower Power' arrived, it did not look like much so I put it in a coffee can. Then it bloomed big fragrant flowers, and set gigantic seed pods. I will repot it more appropriately soon. I expect to cut the plastic Folgers can off of her.

This is another lovely orchid with a lovely perfume too, has to be sniffed at to believe it.

Dianthus is a genus of about 300 species of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae, native mainly to Europe and Asia, with a few species extending south to north Africa, and one species (D. repens) in arctic North America. My only complaint about the candles is that the rings can be a little tricky to fish out. I’m sure it’s not easy to figure out the perfect way to pour hot wax and get a little packet of fragrant jewels rings to stay in just the right spot, but I’ve found that the glue that’s used to secure the ring packaging to the side of the jar can be a little overzealous. I’ve gotten a fair amount of hot wax on my fingers trying to detach ring packets from FJ candle jars.
