Sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia), also known as summer sweet, is a deciduous, upright, multi-stemmed shrub that grows from 6 to 12 feet high. The fragrant, bottlebrush-like flower spikes, which appear in July and August and last up to 6 weeks or more, are followed by tiny, brown seed capsules that persist through winter.
First and most important: For the most part, I have only good things to say about Fragrant Jewels bath bombs. They’re nicely fragrances (I haven’t received a single scent yet that I didn’t like), are plenty effervescent, aren’t over saturated with tub-staining dye, and sometimes incorporate the multicolored/color-changing effects that you find in some Lush bombs.
So... I was wandering through my iPhoto library this weekend and I stumbled upon the photos I'd taken at Tom & Terri's Wedding last October. I thought I'd loaded these up, but double-checked... and I hadn't.
Better late than never, right?

The morning of the 2nd, we went for a walk along the Spruce Bog Boardwalk, a short trail which passes through a large bog, as well as several areas of open water, in which many water lilies were blooming.
This clone has ordinarily one, two or thre distinct marks in the lip. In this photo, the side flowers show only one purple stripe in the lip and the flower in the middle doesn't show any marks. That's why it is sometimes labeled as false concolor.
The arbor in Santa Clara University's Mission Gardens comes alive in the spring with purple wisteria. The gardens are one of my favorite places.
