There is only so much road food you can take - all the fast food in the world never appealed to me to begin with. So we took matters into our own hands and stocked up on steamed collard greens, steamed corn, crunchy sprouts and juicy, succulent peaches. In short, we ate things that we like, felt good afterward and saved ourselves a little $.

An amazing number of orchids were flowering in this nature reserve. My expert tells me this is a Fragrant Orchid. It matched the picture in the flower guide and had a strong and pleasant scent. They clearly like limestone.
Not easy to differentiate f. sanguinea from f. rubra, unless you have both in hands. Both are dark, but sanguinea is redder than rubra. Also, the surface of the f. sanguinea is like a beautiful satin, many times described as a velvety surface, which I tried to capture in these two photos.

Last October, my friends and I took a spur of the moment trip to Fragrant Hills (香山) which is located not that far away from my university (about 30minutes away by bus maybe?).
It's something like a park with mountains that you can climb. You can see Beijing from the top of the mountains, it's a really pretty site. Me and my friends didn't get to fully go around, I'd consider going back.
