sorry.

While driving home from Austin this weekend, we saw fields full of beautiful wildflowers...many different kinds. These delicate coneflowers lined the roadside.

“Human beings are frail and temporary, like grass, and the glory of man fleeting like blossoms of the field. But what God has said will stand forever." "God loved the people of this world so much that He gave Jesus Christ, His only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die." (1 Pet 1:24,25 John 3:16)

La nuit s'annonce et déjà

dans la pénombre je me sens las

là où mon coeur n'y est pas

mon âme est sombre, vieux soldats

si je mène encore le combat

c'est grâce à toi

veille sur moi, veille sur moi

ne me laisse pas m'endormir

Veille sur moi, veille sur moi

ne me laisse pas me trahir

ne laisse pas le froid m'envahir

On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

How fragile we are how fragile we are.

beech forest in autumn with mist and red leaves

I end the week with a second picture from the series "fragile trees". for this picture I had already changed my workflow a bit, not so many hairs turned grey... ;)

unfortunately I wasn't able to take part in polaroid week as much as I would have liked. nevertheless, it was a celebration for me and I am very grateful to be part of this community. polaroid week is always sooo inspiring and wonderful. I'm already looking forward to autumn and spending some more time in the pool, to see all the pictures of this week!

p.s. the two mosaics will be exhibited at the instant cologne (27.5. - 29.5.). so if you are nearby, you are welcome to have a look at them there.

....Any one who has ever handled a dried leaf or flower petal knows how fragile they can be.....

We have memories so distant, so tiny, so fragile, that it seems that at any moment they are going to come undone or detached, like a petal or a scale. Gone. Sometimes we would like to put an animal on duty, a fish or a giraffe, to look after those memories and tell them not to move. Do not move. Do not speak. You'd better not even be remembered.

Why "fragile"? To me this is a metaphor for what is happening to the earth! Too many people! Climate change! Constant war! Extinction of species! Burning of the Amazon Forest! Gun violence! Greed! Despotic leaders of countries, etc!

Can we turn it around?
