The morning air was cool and fresh as my car pushed its way up the Tioga Pass Road toward the Yosemite High Country. It was May in the Eastern Sierra and the snowmelt had made little lakes out of what would be grassy meadows later in the year. I stopped for a bit to walk around one of the lakes… snapping pics and enjoying the quiet. It was a Delightful Day !!
A little further up the Tioga Pass Road lies Tuolumne Meadows, one of the largest high-elevation meadows in the Sierra Nevada, Tuolumne Meadows at 8,600 feet has been also among the most visible to past pioneers, and present visitors and scientists.
There’s a lot of argument about which stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail has the most breathtaking scenery, but for lovers of high-alpine landscapes, it’s tough to beat the stretch of trail through Yosemite’s Tuolumne Meadows, the largest subalpine meadow in the Sierra Nevada. This is stark, fragile, granite country. The beauty of this region's glacial-cut peaks, gem-like lakes, verdant meadows, and abundant wildlife make it a hiking paradise.
Note: The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) is a treasured pathway through some of the most outstanding scenic terrain in the United States. Beginning in southern California at the Mexican border, the PCT travels a total distance of 2,650 miles through California, Oregon, and Washington until reaching the Canadian border.

This tender fragile leaf stays as an synonym for Fragility. Not just in nature we often see something or someone that becomes very fragile to us!
Fragile refers to something or someone that is fragile and delicate. Fragile comes from the Latin fragilis, fragile. A glass can be very fragile, that is, very thin, easily broken. The psyche and constitution can also be very fragile, someone recovering after a grief, a disappointment, a mental crisis or a mental illness will be quite fragile for a while. For this reason, we should be considerate of people who are fragile, delicate and tender, because these qualities make a person a compassionate, humane and valuable fellow human being.

You really get a sense of the earth's power in Iceland. The volcanic rock and the evidence of rock explosions, molten rock and boiling streams just below the earth's surface and we stand nearby fascinated by it's power, marvelling and not really knowing when the next eruption will happen.

This one from the archives...This little guy is only about half an inch wide and was in his own special glass case...Post-processing style was inspired by an image in tonikyrinfo's photostream! Actually I shot this pic in vertical mode and decided to convert to horizontal...canonplanet: can you believe that?
The trail To Siffleur Falls, Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve, Alberta Canada. The reserve protects fragile montane habitats and vast grassland and forests, where many species of rare plants and other wildlife thrive.
