i bought some fragile stickers and decided to play around with them. hopefully, there'll be more photos with them in to follow
A delightful wooded trail inside the Fragile Forest exhibit does give you the impression of walking inside a dense tropical rainforest. I encountered several animals beside the trail itself on my 2002 visit, unfortunately in 2009 I could see very fee. A running stream inside the exhibit fills the area with the melodious sound of a babbling brook, which makes for a very serene and peaceful experience and being one with nature. (Oct. 2009)
A frame from what I actually ended up doing for my first photobook project, tracking time and change in a domestic space by following the same shadow. Those who follow me have seen a few shots of this plant's shadow just in the last month.
This Fragile Papershell Mussel (Leptodea fragilis) is doing what mussels do best: filtering sediment out of the river to feed themselves, which simultaneously cleans the water. This mussel was in the Marais des Cygnes River in October, 2011.

The sun destroyed the hoar frost and quickly melted the fragile ice crystals, but not before some beautiful pieces of winter cover were highlighted.
I saw that a rose was just flowering in my Garden, so I cut it with the aim to photograph it indoors, by the time I got to it the next morning for the best light, half of the petals had dropped already.
Showing the fragility of living things when removed from thier natural environment.
Again I was hoping for a frosty morning, as I'm trying to shoot this plant covered in a frost. Even though it lacks the frost, I like the composition of this image.

Day 25: I wonder if this is a bit too shocking?
Have to say I was shocked to see how much weight my little girl has lost and how poorly and frail she looked as she slept (she's had a Norovirus infection and been pretty ill with it - worse than the rest of us). Anyway, this is a personal shot to remind me how fragile my children are sometimes.
(also day 333/365 of the 365 project I started in Feb 2010)

This is an immature female Fragile Forktail based on the illustration in Ed Lam's beautifully illustrated "Damselflies of the Northeast." He lists this very small species as being 21 - 29 mm or .8 - 1.1 inches long.
The damselfly was near several others including a male with green markings in a brushy area at the edge of a lake. The markings that look like an exclamation mark on the shoulder allow it to be identified in the field.
I spotted quite a few dragonflies and butterflies in the Dutch Gap area including Zebra Swallowtails. Several Yellow-throated Warblers were singing along the 5-mile loop path at this park.

Voici une photo prise il y a quelques temps, mais que je ne pouvais pas poster, car je n'avais pas lu le livre... Je triche un peu, car je ne l'ai pas encore terminé, mais j'ai bien lu les trois quarts de ce recueil de nouvelles fantastiques. J'aime bien Neil Gaiman, mais j'avoue ne pas pouvoir lire ses short stories d'une traite : elles ne sont pas spécialement effrayantes, mais il y a toujours un fond un peu inquiétant ; il est plus facile de les lire par paquets de 5 ou 6. Dans ce recueil, j'ai bien aimé la nouvelles" Other People" (une vision intéressante de l'enfer), et "Goliath" écrite dans le cadre du film Matrix.Par contre, vu qu'il est en VO, j'ai beaucoup de mal avec les poèmes.
