Recently I photographed a friend of mine who is pregnant, we experimented with different props, materials and angles. This was one of my favourites that i might use for a project I'm doing at the moment at college based around 'traces', she is nude and wrapped in 'fragile' tape which is used for postage. I changed the image in photoshop to make the word 'fragile' on the tape stand out at the point where it is spread across her belly. It is common to have mothers-to-be photographed nude or wrapped in fabric etc so i tried to chose something that i thought would be different and bold that said more than 'aww' when the viewer saw it. Red is most eye catching as our brains assume its warning us or signalling danger thats why many signs are in red, the writing on the tape was originally red so after making it brighter i excluded it from the change of the image whilst making it black and white. I think a lot of people are unaware of the risks there are whilst pregnant and I hope this image could make a possible awareness to people.
In front of a packing and shipping store, these flags are supposed to tell us that you can ship anywhere in the world from here. But with the packing crate below with its 'fragile' marking, a new meaning comes out.
This is from yesterday, I found the rose in my garden. You have to know, we have a really small garden and this was actually the only thing I could photograph but I like the shot.
It's january, the weather forcast predicts snow for the weekend but I can't wait for roses to bloom again, not to be frozen. We had no real snow the whole december and now I REALLY don't want it anymore. The only good thing will be that I'm gonna have something different to photograph when everything's white.
I took my last exam until february or march today! :) The week can only get better now!

It's been a while since my last posting of this leaf. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that this beauty has survived so long. The fragility increases daily. Winter has come and gone and I'm hoping for more time together before the landscapers do their spring trimming.

One of the most meaningful messages I saw at the Fragile Forest exhibit which I hoped these idiot real estate developers all over the world, and especially in Dubai,would see and understand.Sorry for the poor focus, it is probably symbolic of the hocus focus foresight of these greedy property developers who care only about money and nothing about the environment! (Singapore, Oct. 2009) (Actually, I was using a camera with a very small viewfinder by today's standards, so the focus appeared good enough on the tiny LCD screen).
Okay, so here's the thing. There's this artist? Franck de Las Mercedes? His project is, he paints boxes and sends them to people with labels like "contains strength" or "contains tranquility." He does this for free. Any time anyone asks him to send a box, he (eventually) sends a box.
Here's the catch: You can only request one. EVER.
I found out about this here on Flickr and requested one for a friend of mine who (1) is a serious art appreciator and (2) could use a little boost these days.
I told people about it and someone sent me one. And yeah: These days, I could use it.
Actually the roses are still fine but on this photo, I wanted to try to express the fragile of the beauty.
'Ranger stations' are set up at several exhibits all over Singapore Zoo and Night Safari where schoolchildren on field trips are given a hands on 'touch and feel' experience or a macro view of things. This one talks about various types of soil erosion by worms and insects. The 'rangers stations' are manned by volunteers, called docents. Of course, this Rangers' Station is empty, the guys you see here are visitors. Such a rich educational experience and yet these chaps cannot seem to get rid of their cellphone and ipod. Oh well! Sweet blonde hair that always smells like roses, tragic, with petals that fade and then fall in winter. Fragility. Fragile and delicate like a glass ornament that shatters when no one expects it. That time has come and the flowery creations of nature are blooming. Fragility always wanted that. Cloyingly spoiled and self-absorbed with too much beauty and youth made Fragility go rotten. She blossomed but faded into petals with the droppings of birds on the petals’ red aura. Fragility was the prima ballerina and her job was to be as graceful and ladylike as possible using what was provided in the old wooden trunks filled with laces and ribbons. Her hair, light blonde like lilies and tied neatly in the back of her head. Another reason why she was picked in particular to be the ballerina was that her eyes were bigger than anyone else's. It was like her iris was overgrown and harbored a large pupil pleasing to the audience. "The living Doll" was what she was called.
This tiny snail was only 4 or 5 mm in diameter.
The image is stacked with "CombineZ" at f/5.6 from 3 shots (each with different focus, to get sufficient DOF while the background stays soft [clear?]) with my Sigma 150 mm macro lens.

i bought some fragile stickers and decided to play around with them. hopefully, there'll be more photos with them in to follow
A delightful wooded trail inside the Fragile Forest exhibit does give you the impression of walking inside a dense tropical rainforest. I encountered several animals beside the trail itself on my 2002 visit, unfortunately in 2009 I could see very fee. A running stream inside the exhibit fills the area with the melodious sound of a babbling brook, which makes for a very serene and peaceful experience and being one with nature. (Oct. 2009)
A frame from what I actually ended up doing for my first photobook project, tracking time and change in a domestic space by following the same shadow. Those who follow me have seen a few shots of this plant's shadow just in the last month.
This Fragile Papershell Mussel (Leptodea fragilis) is doing what mussels do best: filtering sediment out of the river to feed themselves, which simultaneously cleans the water. This mussel was in the Marais des Cygnes River in October, 2011.

I saw that a rose was just flowering in my Garden, so I cut it with the aim to photograph it indoors, by the time I got to it the next morning for the best light, half of the petals had dropped already.

A piece called’Fragile’.I’ve went through a lot with my body over the years.I starved it and cut it during my teens due to my depression.I had it abused by my abuser cooperlock during the age of 16-18.Since then I’ve tried to come to terms with the fact my body is disabled and that that is ok.I’ve had to come to terms with how feminine it is as a non-binary person.My body is fragile like flowers but slowly I’m learning to see it as beautiful like flowers too.
