Thank you all so much for your comments & faves.
In the quiet spaces between hope and despair, we wear our most delicate selves. This image reflects the bittersweet fragility of seeking connection, only to feel the weight of solitude. We are like angels with fragile wings, yearning for companionship but carrying the scars of rejection. Still, we shine in our vulnerability, finding beauty even in sadness.
Crystal fragility is not weakness but refinement.
La fragilità del cristallo non è una debolezza ma una raffinatezza.

Thrilled to have my photo "Fragile" as lead image over this Portrait Showcase with this words from Jennifer Bracewell: "There is something soothing about this simple, beautifully composed porcelain portrait. I love the quiet"

East Fork Overflow Creek, Nantahala National Forest.
I tried this composition shifted (camera level) and unshifted (camera angled up) and preferred the unshifted one.

Another capture from Madeira´s beautiful nature.
I don't know the correct botanical name, but I think it's some kind of hibiscus.
Eine weitere Aufnahme aus Madeiras schöner Natur. Ich kenne den korrekten botanischen Namen nicht, denke aber es handelt sich um eine Art Hibiskus. .

A bird forgets its wings and walks,
the wind does not ask why.
A river dreams of being a thread,
sewn into the fabric of the sea.
The sun leans closer,
whispering warmth into the stones.
A flower listens to the silence,
opening itself without question.
Everything is soul and flowering.

Take what you want, have my heart
Take it all, I'm not letting go
Cut me in two, I love you
Like a fool, everybody knows
I'm a bird without her wings
I'm a song nobody sings
Yeah, my heart's a fragile thing without you (mm-mm-mm)
I'm a winter without spring
I'm a sail without a wind
Yeah, my heart's a fragile thing without you

The fading embers of a Minnesota summer day caresses a century old barn stained now with only a hint of red. It stands quite alone with nothing to remind passersby of the importance it once had in the lives of a farm family. After over seven and a half decades of life, I find myself struggling to bring back many vivid memories of my young years. My memories now are fading and are like an elusive fog lifting and drifting around people and events once deemed so important.
