The legendary Grand Wizzard Theodore (widely credited as the inventor of scratching) performing the blindfolded needle drop with DJ Jazzy Joyce. These were shot during the Milestones Jam-Master Jay (Jason Mizell of Run-DMC) tribute in September 2006 at Berklee, the first school to fully embrace the turntable as a musical instrument (in 1994). The Milestones Tribute honored many of the living legends who developed or shaped hip hop in the early days and golden era. Quite an evening. I was lucky to get a press pass to the cover the event.
over the next couple months, I'll be posting a bunch of old concert photos. A summer project as it were. These are the last photos from the first batch

'Earth'... well... I thought of elements. So I've had a go at playing with merging layers, a thing I hadn't really done before - last week's cat and notes was my first.
So here's one of the four elements, or, as Empedokles put it, "the four roots of all things".
Part 3 of my "Four Elements" set. This was the most difficult as I painted Water, Fire and then Earth, but was unsure of the colours to use for wind until a friend suggested greys and silvers so here it is.
I was day dreaming when I came up with the image of the swirls that were a bit like waves and as I was painting Water (part 2) I decided to paint the four elements as a quartet.
