INRI is an acronym of the Latin inscription IESVS·NAZARENVS·REX·IVDÆORVM (Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum), which translates to English as "Jesus the Nazarene (Galilean), King of the Jews (Judeans)". The Greek equivalent of this phrase, Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων (Iesous ho Nazoraios ho Basileus ton Ioudaion), appears in the New Testament of the Christian Bible in the Gospel of John (19:19). Each of the other accounts of Jesus' death has a slightly different version for the inscription on Jesus' cross: Matthew (27:37), "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews"; Mark (15:26), "The King of the Jews"; and Luke (23:38), "This is the King of the Jews." John and Luke state it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, while Matthew and Mark describe it as the charge for crucifying Jesus. Luke states that it was a statement hung above Jesus's head. Since John's form is the most complete it is the one that is usually found on depictions of the Crucifixion of Jesus.
In the Gospel of John (19:19-20), the inscription is explained:
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. (King James Version)
According to all four Gospels, Pilate challenged Jesus to deny that he was the "King of the Jews" and Jesus did not deny the accusation.[1]
According to John, the chief priests asked Pilate to change the inscription so that it did not say "the King of the Jews", but rather, "This man said he was the King of the Jews", but Pilate refused to change it, saying, "What I have written, I have written". (John 19:20-22)
This was a fun cache to find. Geocaches can be found almost anywhere. On public property that is! In parking lots, on nature trails, in cemeteries, at the park, you name it. The cache can range in size from "nano" to "micro" to large and even what I call huge! I've found them as small as small can be and as large as a 5 gallon paint bucket with a lid. They are usually a water proof sort of container and maybe well camouflaged. They can be located low (base of a tree) or high (think climb a tree!). The use of a gps is necessary, either a handheld gps or a smart phone. It's been great fun and can be very good exercise too! Best of all, it's free fun:) If you'd like to learn more about geocaching, check out this link. www.geocaching.com
and I use the app on my phone called Geo Bucket (from Itunes). Try it, you'll like it. I just started this about a month ago.....so far I've found 83 caches. Getting ready to hide my first one.
Found 126-format Kodachrome slide dated September 1967 showing a young girl with her grandmother (I assume).
Part of a large batch of vintage negatives I purchased at an estate sale. They seem to be mostly NJ, 1930s and 1940s. If you recognize a building, please comment and let me know where it is.
Ebay purchases - fortunately the photographer was a diligent labeler but did not include their name.

this is a reflection from a puddle i found in an alley in downtown Austin. The photo is flipped upside down.
Found fifteen minutes to spare on the way home today, so stopped at Oxford St to grab the above shot of cyclists dodging the Oxford Street traffic.
Enjoy day 191!

I love vintage photos of people having fun at parties. Remember parties?
Found Kodachrome slide dated April 1985 showing a horse-drawn carriage. From the road signs I would guess that this was taken in the UK somewhere.

The Founding Father’s are musicians who list greats like Beck, Ween, and LCD Soundsystem among their biggest influence and it seems like the crowds are down with that. Its hard not hear the influence of the Talking Heads when the band hits hard- but only because they love you. When Hands come out of pockets, heads begin to bob, and the scene kids start to listen then you know the sonic stupor.

"I FOUND YOU" - Tilly and the Wall
I, I went down walking
The sky was bright
Red flowers blooming
The sky was bright (so bright!)
And I could hear that rock 'n' roll coming out your radio (that's right!)
I, I went down walking
The sun was hot (so hot!)
The streets were melt, melt, melting
The sun was hot (so hot!)
And I could hear the rock 'n' roll coming out your front window
Yeah, I was look, look, looking for you
I, I went down walking
The wind's so cold
The leaves build my path
The wind grew cold
I was taken by the light that had fell on such a sight
(Uh huh, yeah, that's right)
Over and over and over and over again
I, I went down walking
The snow made angels on the ground
Icicles hang, hang, hanging
The snow made angels all around
And I stumbled through the snow on the way to your front door
I felt the earth beneath my feet push, push, push, pushing me
And all that I could see were lights falling all around me
I was look, look, looking for you
I was look, look, looking for you
I was look, look, looking for you
