Forgot about this one. One morning at Bombay Hook, the sun was rising while the moon was still up. I thought it was cool how the plane's vapor tail picked up the orange glow of the sunrise. www.rickstewartphoto.com www.facebook.com/rickstewartphotography

Forgot to post this pic from the Abbotsford International Airshow. This flight of a B-17 bomber and a Messerschmitt 109 commemorates an incident from WWII. On December 20, 1943 a B-17 Flying Fortress piloted by 2nd Lt. Charles "Charlie" Brown was participating in a bomb run over Bremen, Germany. It was hit by anti-aircraft fire and then attacked by German fighters. The tail gunner was killed and one of the other crew severely wounded. The aircraft sustained significant damage including one engine lost and one damaged. It was trying to maintain flight back to England when spotted by Franz Stigler a fighter pilot in the Luftwaffe flying a Messerschmitt Bf 109. When he saw the damage to the bomber and saw the wounded crew member, he remembered being instructed to never shoot at someone in a parachute. To him, the crippled bomber was in the same category. He attempted to signal the bomber to fly to Sweden which was closer than England, but the signal was not understood. Stigler then flew close to the bomber so that antiaircraft guns would not target it and escorted it to open water of the North Sea and saving the lives of the remaining crew. Brown was able to successfully land the bomber in England. Brown was able to track down Stigler in 1990, Stigler having immigrated to Canada in the early 1950's. The two became friends until their deaths in 2008. Stigler has a connection to Abbotsford as he was a member of the Abbotsford Flying Club that started the Abbotsford Airshow. I've been trying to get a sense of epic scale with my Hibernia mocs but seem to be struggling at minifig scale; I'm wondering if microscale is the answer. And one of the first things that came to mind when answering the call to the Hibernia colonies was Pierre E Fieschi's incredible Terrraformware; massive and colourful landcraft. His microscale stuff continues to inspire me.

I forgot today is St. Patrick's Day so here's a green one.

I forgot Hestia rule : " Every pen is a good toy when my humon write something !"

In among all the seasonal and personal celebrations I forgot that December is just another month on Flickr - and my monthly collage is woefully late!

Looking back on the month there was a whole lot of black, especially in the backgrounds (a piece black velvet curtaining!) The month saw the final colour in the 'Life is a Rainbow' year of colour - and the colour was - yes - Black! The subject of the shots had to be black, and all 6 are down the right-hand side. On the left-hand side are three versions of a bowl of daisies, which marked the start of my study of the LAB colour space in Photoshop. Together with ICM, infrared, Lensbaby, and linking to an article on Playing with the White Balance .... there was just enough room for some macro, and some festive images too. Maybe that explains how the month shot past, and I find myself breathless as January begins! ;o)

Forgot to post this. Just a revised version of this thing. Mostly just wanted it to look more "utility" than anything.

I forgot I'd purchased polyethylene non-recyclable glitter for this project. Inspired by #MacroMondays and the theme "Holiday Bokeh", I tried a macro of a tiny (less than 1 in/ 2.54 cm) spring from a ballpoint pen.

I rather like the unexpected reflection of the gold spring in the glitter.

A soft box lighted on two sides by standing Photogenic StudioMax lights triggered by an off-camera SB 800 strobe at 1/64 power. The base is a small piece of black reflective welder's glass.

Thanks for a fun year!

Forgot about this. Didn't take many photos that night because I couldn't see anything. Gah, I hate being 5'3"! I haven't been doing much photography lately either because my university course is making me do charcoal drawings -_-

Forgot to upload this one earlier...From a great couple of days at the beach at end of July when I visited my sister Hug-A-Horse. The weather was not good for swimming but great for some moody photos

It was nice of CSXT to send a train west in perfect golden light moments after I arrived on my birthday for dinner with my GF and a few good friends at the Steaming Tender. Just looks like in their haste to get here for my mini celebration they forgot something! For reasons unknown daily Worcester to Selkirk manifest train M437 is sans cars as they sail west on the Boston Sub mainline about to hit the New England Central Railroad diamond at CP83 beside the 1883 buit H.H. Richardson designed Union Station that served predecessor roads Boston and Albany and Central Vermont. I don't know if they picked up cars in Springfield or Pittsfield or if they were light engine the whole way just to get the crew home and the power balanced

I have spent the last few weeks shunting motors around in the dark and the rain. I have reached a point where i'm not sure if i'm awake or asleep. Do not ask me which way up i am as i'm in no mood for complicated questions.
