A filigree ring made for my wife in 1996 in Mali by an artist who does not even have electricity in his workshop, and has fingers the size of bananas.
It was a real treat watching him work.
This is a 9 shot focus stack.

Caspian Tern bringing a small fish to her youngster. This species is the largest of the terns and is found on all continents except Antarctica. It take about 6-9 months for the young to learn how to hover and dive. Therefore they are dependent on their parents or other adults in the colony to provide food. These breed in the north and come to our lake inSpringfield Illinois during the last of July and August on their way south. Their beautiful call and hunting habits are truly special.

For the Smile on Saturday theme, Blue for You - ME 2020
The theme this week is for ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
HSoS 😊
This photo is especially for my father who passed away last monday due to the Corona virus. This was one of his favorite places in The Netherlands. I am so grateful that he taught me the beauty of nature and that he was such a wonderful father to me. Please pay close attention to your parents and other elderly people, they are so vulnerable. Please keep them inside for now, it can go very fast with this terrible virus!

For Smile on Saturday - blues for all those who suffer from ME or CFS. On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
This guy stands tall and proud on a hillside and has seen it all. For hundreds of years the land around has eroded, collapsed, slid away and has been reburied in slides. At least one of his mates went down and took some of him with it, yet still he remains struggling against the wind and snow, lightning, and rain and the killer of all, time.
When his time comes to fall others will replace him and enjoy their day in the sun, but in the meantime take pause to admire this massive fellow, he's earned it.
Blow this up and climb inside, you can see the cycle of life happen as though it were a film, so much going on in here.
For all my flickr friends, especially SweetKendi who has helped me since we first met up, She was one of my first contacts and comments on all my photo's whether they are good or bad. I want to thank you all for inspiring me, I only used to take photo's of my family but now you have given me the courage to explore other things. Thank you and this is sincerley said from the heart.
