TfL new Bus for London on display in Sutton. Sutton, London. Saturday 7 January 2012

It is taking me a long time to post a few more photos taken at the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage, near Nanton, Alberta. This was a visit with my daughter on 15 July 2025. I am adding the description that I posted under previously photos taken on the same day.

The late Jim Coutts talks about his connection to the land and his vision for the future of the Coutts Centre. Copyright University of Lethbridge.

"These five photos posted were taken on 15 July 2025, when my daughter and I visited the Coutts Centre. I had emailed the Centre ahead of time to check if it would be alright if we could visit on 15 July.

My daughter had never been, but I had been to the Centre in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010 with naturalist Gus Yaki and just a few botany friends. I always wanted to go back again, but it just didn't happen till yesterday. I had also been on several hikes that were led by Jim Coutts, including climbing up to the top of the cliffs at Williams Coulee, walking along the top to look for wildflowers, and then having to cautiously climb down the rocky, challenging slope. On another occasion, at the Coutts Centre, we felt honoured when Jim invited us into his house for a cup of tea and cookies. All wonderful memories!

"Launched in June 2011 thanks to a generous gift from the late Dr. Jim Coutts (LLD ’12), the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage preserves and celebrates the diverse heritage that is central to the spirit of the west, honouring both its namesake and the land he so admired.

Just east of Nanton, AB, the Coutts Centre is comprised of a quarter section of land on the more than 100-year-old property that once belonged to Jim’s grandfather. The quarter section of land includes the original homestead, extensive gardens and restored outbuildings.

This unique property is a living testament to Jim’s family history and his own legacy as a community-driven Albertan. The Centre supports community involvement with artist residencies, festivals, weekend brunches and live music, and encourages community use through rentals and event bookings." From the Centre's website.

The biggest snowfall so far this season. Also, the biggest snowfall so far this year!!

How we spent the second day of 2008!

Yup! After over 20 years of loyal service, she got into a snow bank and wouldn't come out under her own power. Lucky I have strong sons!

for the second year in a row, we were treated to a golden sunset here

For lack of a more accurate label I call it Peter's school because in this pic I am showing it to my friend, Peter Olsen. We had gone out to Lagrange County to the 8th grade graduation of an Amish friend. On the way I showed Peter this old school.

On 18 July, the National Assembly for Wales Bus made its way to Llanelwedd to host a number of events at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. On the first day, William Powell AM, Chair of the Petitions Committee, visited the Bus and hosted a drop-in session where members of the public could talk about issues that matter to them and find out how they could make a difference. The National Assembly for Wales’s Presiding Officer, Rosemary Butler AM, visited a number of stands at the show and held meetings with organisations including the BBC, ITV Wales, National Farmers’ Union, Farmers’ Union of Wales, Age Cymru and the Countryside Council for Wales. The purpose of these meetings was to discuss the priorities for these organisations in the coming years and to establish how the Assembly, with its new powers, can ensure that these issues are brought to the fore. To end her visit, the Presiding Officer held a reception in the Governors and Vice Presidents’ Pavilion. Assembly Members and guests enjoyed a traditional Welsh tea while the Presiding Officer presented her aspirations for the Assembly under her leadership.

Ar 18 Gorffennaf, ymlwybrodd Bws Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru i Lanelwedd i gynnal nifer o ddigwyddiadau yn ystod Sioe Frenhinol Cymru. Ymwelodd Llywydd Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru, Rosemary Butler AC, a nifer o stondinau yn y sioe a chynnal cyfarfodydd gyda sefydliadau fel y BBC, ITV Wales, NFU Cymru, Undeb Amaethwyr Cymru, Age Cymru a Chyngor Cefn Gwlad Cymru. Diben y cyfarfodydd oedd trafod blaenoriaethau’r sefydliadau am y blynyddoedd i ddod, a sefydlu sut y gall y Cynulliad, gyda’i bwerau newydd, sicrhau bod y materion hyn yn dod i’r amlwg. I gloi ei hymweliad, cynhaliodd y Llywydd dderbyniad ym Mhafiliwn y Llywodraethwyr a’r Dirprwy Lywyddion. Yno cafodd nifer o Aelodau Cynulliad a gwesteion gyfle i fwynhau te Cymreig traddodiadol tra bod y Llywydd yn cyflwyno ei dyheadau ar gyfer y Cynulliad o dan ei harweinyddiaeth.

What can I say? A beautiful Sunday in Washington D.C. and look what a**hole detritus appears before the Lincoln Memorial. No wonder I prefer to go out on the water in little boats to get away from it all.

For a friend. I left my SD Card reader at my BF's house so crappy glare-eyed cellphone pics for all :<

This retro collage cover for the Korean VHS release of "The Emerald of Artatama" (1969) promises "Soul Dancing' and plays up the pic's exotic Egyptian locales. Released on the Paekrok label, a three-shift-factory steadfast purveyor of exotic B pix and grindhouse fare. Very very rare now.

So I'm making a new work desk for myself. Here's a handful of material I scavenged from dumpsters and yard sales.

The blue thing is a suit rack, meant to hold a jacket, pocket stuff, pants, and who knows. Each section is connected with threaded rods projecting from the veritical members.

I also have some black melamine 5/8th" panels from a crappy ikea type desk I've never wanted.

Let me introduce you my new outfit made with ingenuousness for Sophia. She desired an "Sailor" dress set.

Regarding the colors, I did a study around the tones of an old doll whose the atmosphere is a very soft sailor witch I love a lot.

So a base of ivory and blue-gray with a touch of tonic red.

This set consists of a dress, an overskirt, removable collar and stockings.

Here first I present you the dress and stockings. The dress is cut in a lined fabric and trimmed with lace and ribbon at the bottom. For the stockings and the dress's breastplate, I painted myself red stripes on an ivory fabric to give an old craft touch.

I also want to introduce you one of my new dolls customized by me during the past months.

Her name is "My Bloomy" because she's very inspired by Bloomy Bloomsbury, one of my favorite Blythe.

She is a FBL original Takara Blythe "Prima Dolly Tokyo", I bought her second hand to be customized for me.

Work done:

· Carving of her nose, lips and philtrum

· New full makeup made with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier and sealed with several layers of MSC

· Tiny freckles

· Sleepy eyes

· Gaze corrected

· New lashes

· Eyelids painted with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier

· Four new pairs of eye chips hand painted by me using professional Golden iridescent fluid acrylics. Blue(right), Dark red (center), Pink (left), Dark green (center)

· Full reroot using locked loop method with Katsilk 83 Glitter saran, a lovely mixture of two light brown

Je l'adore!! :-))

Thank you very much for your visiting!

For Navaratri’s seventh night, we celebrate Goddess Kalaratri, otherwise known as Kali. She takes a terrifying form, with eyes of fire and skin as dark as night, to purify the world by killing demons and destroying evil in the form of ignorance and egoism in the hearts of man.

She is the personification of the Ultimate, all comes from Her and all returns to Her. Her name means the One who is always giving and She will do everything to save Her children, absorbing all from Her devotees: the good, the bad, and the negative. She always delivers favourable results and Her devotees need not fear Her.

For Global Entrepreneurship Week, the U.S. Mission co-sponsored a town hall at the United Nations in Geneva "Women's Empowerment through Entrepreneurship". The event organized in conjunction with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), WIPO, ILO, ITC, the Youth Employment Network, UNDP, UNITAR, and the Mexican Mission to the UN Offices in Geneva included entrepreneurs from the United States, Mexico and Colombia and from organizations that support entrepreneurs in Ethiopia and Switzerland. Ambassador Betty E. King remarked that entrepreneurship for women is a "vital source of growth. By increasing women's participation in the economy and enhancing their efficiency and productivity, we can dramatically enhance the competitiveness and growth of our economies."

For starters, let me just say that any sentence including my name and any of doctor, dentist, hospital etc. inevitably finishes up the same : me lying down somewhere with a cold compress on my forehead, feeling pretty stupid.

As part of a general check-up, I had to give a blood sample earlier this week. My wife made the appointment and went with me to the local surgery (bless her!). I explained to the nurse that I would almost certainly pass out before she had even started the Draclia impression. She replied with something along the lines of "You men are all the same. It's a good job it's not you that have the babies or we'd be extinct by now!"

My last words, before losing consciousnes(!) were "Be gentle with me. I bruise easily".

This is the result of a single needle!
