People wait, either for comet NEOWISE, or for the sun to set.
While waiting to photograph comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE, I took some time to test out my gear on a sunset. The hill at the centre of McLennan Park, colloquially known as Mount Trashmore, is one of the higher points within the city of Kitchener's boundaries, and is a popular spot for people to watch the sunset.
Shot using a Pentax K-x body equipped with a Pentax S-M-C/Super Takumar 300 mm F4 M42 screw mount lens. Sturdied using a Manfrotto tripod. Lens aperture unrecorded.

Society columns now ensured, return to mingle with the crowds

I often wonder what life will have in store for my boys, all I wish for them is to live life to the full and I hope with all my heart that they will have a happy life.
I bribed Harry to be a hand model for me here...he was promised that he could take a shot of his Teddy sheila when I had done...hehe he made me hold her like he'd held the paper for me, which I did without any moaning "have you done yet...this is the last shot" hehehe.

Shooting has been incredible lately. I feel like there is a new force pushing me along. It is overcast today so I'll be out shooting for most of it, and I can't wait. I've never felt so motivated to pick up my camera and click.
Over a year ago I did a photo using fake snow, and I said to myself that i'd never use fake snow again in place of fake cobweb...but when it came down to it, I had a ton of fake snow this year (I was trying to emulate the christmas spirit as seen in Pennsylvania) so I had to put it to use :)

Rarely do I see Rooks posted online by wildlife photographers because they are common. But for me they are one of the most interesting birds we have in the UK.
The chickadees swoop in for one seed, then fly off to enjoy it…
A cold and breezy morning with temp -9C and windchill -17C…
Now, for the 3rd year running, we have another 3 young House Martins developing fast. These are the 3 egg shells found in the garden, 2 on the 29th May with an interesting fine pattern inside, (showing through the light) and the last one found 2 days later on 31st May with no patterning inside?
The shells are incredibly delicate and only the size of a small fingernail. Alas, since this photograph was taken, the birds have not visited again since 2020.

Headed for town, near Singapore River, yesterday hoping that I meet up with the White Bellied Sea Eagle who dives for his fish around 3 pm. Waited for 2 hrs and no show. So I started to shoot Beautiful People from where I was sitting on the floor.

My entry for the LUGNuts "Fire and Ice" challenge. A rescue truck used predominantly in the winter for ice rescue missions, but the tracks can be replace with wheels to become the station's swift water rescue. I hate envy. It is evil and I truly thank God that I've never envied others in my life BUT I sometimes tend to envy the birds or let say wish I have their capacity to fly high and to fly freely...to swim in the air and to let its power carry me aimlessly. I believe freedom is the most precious gift man can ask God for and though it comes in many kinds and forms, the core remains the same. Still, it is always relative as long as we as we are here on earth.
This is an old photograph that I took last year when I noticed a red batman-shaped kite in the sky.

For over 350 years, the Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, a jewel of history and heritage, has made its way into the hearts of generations of visitors and pilgrims. As you step into the church, you will immediately notice the peaceful atmosphere and feel a palpable link to Montreal’s past.
I'm dedicating these next four photographs to one of Australia's greatest poets: Gwen Harwood. Gwen would have been 100 years old this year, and very few poetry books have made the impression on me that her last, "The Present Tense" (1995) has.

Gwen was born in Queensland, but moved to Tasmania in 1945. She ended up settling in the beautiful little southern town of Kettering, a gateway to the wonderful Bruny Island. Her husband Bill built boats and Gwen went fishing, kept poultry, and wrote some of her finest poems.
When she died at 75 (from breast cancer) her friend Dr Norman Talbot described Gwen Harwood this way:
"She is the finest poet Australia has ever had in terms of range and the mixture of sensitivity and wit. Gwen Harwood, in fact, was one of the wittiest and bravest of all the Australian poets. And technically she had everything you could possibly ask a poet to be."
Facing death was something Gwen accepted with courage. As Dr Talbot said, "She was ready to die but she was damn sure she wasn't going to do it any earlier than she had to. She was a great hero, that lady."
And indeed you were Gwen. And you still inspire today with your grasp of time, history and eternity.
And also for others who are suffering the effects of a Nor'Easter on the U.S. Atlantic coast, and gloomy weather anywhere.
I took this at the entrance to the soccer field where there are banks of these roses lining the fence and going up the sidewalk to the upper fields.
California may have earthquakes, devastating fires and crazy governing but it also has roses all year round.

I met this little group in my park the other day. They are part of Wheels for Wellbeing (wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/) that provides disabled people with mobility; the gent on the left had had a stroke. The young lady allowed me to have a go on hers & it was wonderful! I quite fancy one!
