Or maybe Free!!

A very unexpected find on the beach... a boat garage complete with high speed boat.... in pieces!!

Most likely caused by on of the many storms that hit Long Island...

Hope they had insurance!!

Beautiful and private beach front property!!!!

A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird sits on a nest as the male only sticks around for mating and then he leaves. This is the first nest that I have ever seen. We will be going back to check on the little ones . Wish it was a little lower and not so dark. Bucks Co. PA.

For a change, this is a new (outside!) photo, taken just a few days ago at the wonderful Britzer Garten, one of Berlin's biggest and most beautiful public parks (please check my album for more "Britz bliss", if you like).

For better dynamic range, I've used exposure bracketing (three images), pre-processed the images in DXO PhotoLab (sharpness and DeepPrime denoising only), from which I directly went into HDR Efex Pro to combine the images. I'm trying to get away from the annual Adobe subscription, and combining images from an exposure bracketing series in HDR Efex instead of Lightroom is one step into that direction. Unfortunately, whenever I think I can finally leave Adobe behind for good they come up with improvements such as the new "supersize" function (now also available in LR), a ton of new presets for LR, and other interesting stuff (and I'm still used to the LR/PS workflow, and the layers in PS). Well, maybe I'll be ready next year ;)

Extra sliding was done in Color Efex, where I added some "Brilliance and Warmth" and a tiny bit of "Contrast Color Range".

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe and have a nice week ahead!

One of the friends that I follow, here on Flickr, has just lost a son.

This post is for him and his family.

I cannot Imagine a worst pain in Life.

A big hug, Daniel!

I died for beauty, but was scarce

Adjusted in the tomb,

When one who died for truth was lain

In an adjoining room.

He questioned softly why I failed?

"For beauty," I replied.

"And I for truth - the two are one;

We brethren are," he said.

And so, as kinsmen met a-night,

We talked between the rooms,

Until the moss had reached our lips,

And covered up our names.

For this week’s Macro Mondays ‘Orange and Blue’ I have chosen to photograph an orange and blue pom-pom. So much choice this week with a fantastic colour contrast, I really didn’t know where to stop!

Simple once again; natural light through a diffuser. Post processing in Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.

The wood was often used for tool handles. Mānuka sawdust imparts a delicious flavour when used for smoking meats and fish.[citation needed] It is cultivated in Australia and New Zealand for mānuka honey, produced when honeybees gather the nectar from its flowers, and for the pharmaceutical industry. It is also used for carving. An essential oil, for which many medicinal claims are made, is produced by steam distillation of its leaves. Mānuka, as it is called by most New Zealanders, was used in pre-European times by Māori, and still is. A decoction of the leaves was drunk for urinary complaints and as a febrifuge (an agent for reducing fever). The steam from leaves boiled in water was inhaled for head colds. A decoction was prepared from the leaves and bark and the warm liquid was rubbed on stiff muscles and aching joints. The emollient white gum, called pai mānuka, was given to nursing babies and also used to treat scalds and burns. Chewing the bark is said to have a relaxing effect and it enhances sleep
