Big stacks of parcel pickup bins at each cash. As per the sign, the store is under renovations. A few days later, this store was converted to Loblaws' sister banner Your Independent Grocer (YIG).

The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.
The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.
The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.
The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.
What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.
A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.
This album represents the result of their work to date.
Thomas' Foodtown grocery store in Kingston, PA closed its doors at the end of 2013. I felt it was fitting to take a photo in the rain. December 29, 2013.
Removal of uprooted tree in our street after the storms that hit Britain all yesterday and last night (i.e. during Monday December 23rd 2012), Herne Hill, London.
I had just been wondering if the gales had affected any trees around our area, when, as I walked down our street, I caught sight of this. I only had my smart phone with me, and the light was really poor, even though it was the middle of the day, so picture definition is pretty fuzzy in spite of my efforts to sharpen it a bit.
The tree evidently broke the decorative balustraded parapet of the frontage, and perhaps some of the roof, so there'll be a fairly hefty and specialised repair to do on that. But amazingly, none of the windows or the rest of the frontage were damaged. I guess things could have been far more serious if the tree hadn't previously been pollarded to remove many of its side-branches. The shop (Andrew's Foodstore) is a popular grocer and greengrocer run by a Greek father and son. The son is the man in dark blue on the L of the pair on the R. contemplating the damage. Usually, the shop owners put stalls out across the pavement as far as the bollards, laden with fruit and vegetables, but they obviously couldn't open at all today, while the tree was being cleared.

We had just had some storms and this tree was blown down in the night before I saw this as I walked down our street here, on the way to work. Here, I'm heading for Brockwell Park at the end of the road, just beyond the railway bridge (L).
My standard outward commuting route:
home > (walk) > Rosendale Road > (walk) > Brockwell Park > (walk) > Herne Hill station > (National Rail suburban service) > London Victoria station > (District/Circle Line) > South Kensington > (walk) > Natural History Museum.

Seen on one of several disused conjoined vintage produce display coolers in a closing grocery store. Sadly, they soon had a date with the junkyard.
These are the last images I have of the Ancaster collection sent from Mansell Beard (Ancaster) which show the demolition of the A.C Wiiliams site back in 2015.
AC Williams were a long established business in Ancaster with other branches in Sleaford and Grantham but sadly went into liquidation back in 2011.
Although the AC Williams sister company (AC Williams Coaches) were saved,sadly the car dealer and petrol station did not survive.
During the 1990's this was a Fina petrol station, this would rebrand to Rix which would be the last fuel brand sold.
Chris has a photo of a branch in Stamford although this site went several years before, this is now a housing development.
Today this site is now a Co-op foodstore.

I think it's safe to say that the boys and I have developed a minor addiction to these Yasso bars. When they go on sale, I stock up! Still, I'm pretty sure these will be gone within a week.
I guess it's not coming back anymore. Shop Rite is not the same. The Super Fresh was quiet, friendly and relaxing making for a truly enjoyable shopping experience. The Shop Rite is overly crowded (think Walmart on Christmas Eve) It's sending my nerves into a frizzle.

So now, what do you think of your first close look at the fabulous and expansive Eataly Italian Marketplace & Food Hall? This massive Italian food court was still under construction last Spring when you and your very lovely lady were vacationing on the Las Vegas Strip. You and your very lovely lady really enjoyed staying here in 2015 and 2016 when it was the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino, so how well do you like this place now in 2019 as the Park MGM?
Cars queued up at the parcel pickup. 1 of only 2 stores left in Ottawa that still offers parcel pickup service.
This store, and a few others like, are beacons for those seeking out curries, chutneys, Hamburger Helper (!), basmati rice and other global treats. Right in the heart of 'international' It'aewon

Developments from the 1990’s and the 70’s have dramatically altered the skyline of this part of Claughton Road. When originally laid out, Claughton Road used to flow onto Conway Street outside the Birkenhead Elementary School (the tower of which can be seen in the background). Now, all traffic has to use Hemmingford Street as Claughton Road now runs into a car-park and a bus-only road which runs out of Birkenhead Bus Station. Since this photo was taken, the Kwik-Save Foodstore has closed leaving the building empty and derelict; A symbol of Birkenhead’s continual downward spiral in my view.
This is a shot of the former car order / commande à l'auto door and window where the rollers used to be.
Lake Mary, FL -- All the employees have left, the shelves are empty, and the doors are locked at many Albertsons locations in Florida. What's next for Albertsons is that each store is auctioning off the rest of the furniture, store fixture, and odds and ends. You could own a piece of history. The only other Albertsons location still open to shop at is in Altamonte Springs.

This is the long straightaway section of belt that once led from the right-side cash registers to bring car order bins into the basement on their journey to the car order room at ex-A&P store 386. Today this store is a Food Basics, but the conveyor system, which closed 10 years before A&P today, is now long gone.
One of the two old car order/parcel pickup/commande à l'auto conveyor belts at ex-A&P store #386. This was the longer belt as it used to originate at the right of mall entrance cash registers. The store closed in November 2005, but the car order operation was shut down 10 years prior to the store's closing. When it closed shopping carts were always strewn all over the neighbourhood. This store opened as a Dominion, then became an A&P, then became Super Fresh, then became A&P Super Fresh, then reverted back to simply A&P. After the store closed, the conveyors were removed and the old parcel pickup drive-thru doors are all that remains of the car order operation. Today the store is Food Basics store #870.
The ex-car order room with the end of line for the quite a bit longer conveyor that used to serve the right-side cashiers. At the end of this belt, there used to be about a 20 ft long section of rollers that was removed at some point in the 10 years since the car order's closing.
