I guess it's not coming back anymore. Shop Rite is not the same. The Super Fresh was quiet, friendly and relaxing making for a truly enjoyable shopping experience. The Shop Rite is overly crowded (think Walmart on Christmas Eve) It's sending my nerves into a frizzle.

Gentlemen -- Are you having fun and thoroughly enjoying the tenth hour of your Solo Vegas Vacation? Good! So now, what do you think of your first close look at the fabulous and expansive Eataly Italian Marketplace & Food Hall? This massive Italian food court was still under construction last Spring when you and your very lovely lady were vacationing on the Las Vegas Strip. You and your very lovely lady really enjoyed staying here in 2015 and 2016 when it was the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino, so how well do you like this place now in 2019 as the Park MGM?

The service industry is an important employer in the city. The city centre is one of the main shopping areas, with the pedestrianised Cruises St being one of the main shopping streets and also the recently pedestrianised Bedford Row. New on the agenda is the proposed pedestranisation of O'Connell St up to Roches St near the Oriental Foodstore and a new look for William St, the heart of Limerick City. Each side of the city has outlying shopping areas. Crescent Shopping Centre is in Dooradoyle, not far from the city centre. It has over 90 shopping outlets along with restaurants and the 12-screen Omniplex Cinema. Regular bus services run from the city centre to the Crescent Shopping Centre. The Jetland Shopping Centre is in Caherdavin. It opened in 2005. Its main anchor is Dunnes Stores, with other shops and services including Golden Discs and Costa Coffee
The Milk Market located at Cornmarket Row in the city centre sells locally produced foods and products. The market is run by the Limerick Market Trustees and is one of the oldest markets run in the country. The market is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the Saturday market acting as the flagship and most popular market day. In 2010 work was undertaken to redevelop the existing market premises to an all – weather, all year round market facility as the market operated in an outdoor environment. The work involved constructing a large canopy over the existing market premises and was officially re-opened in June 2010.

Co-op shop at Court Oak Road, Harborne, Birmingham, January 2012. Formerly Birmingham Society 'BCS' being repeated twice on the parapet, once all the shops were Co-op (grocer, butcher, Greengrocery etc) now just the enlarged foodstore remains. Recently refitted to current 'green' fascia.

A champion of consistently high-quality food that keeps everyone from fussy five-year-olds and food-trendy mums to keep-it-plain-and-simple grandmas happy. Love the salmon, dill and potato cakes, egg and bacon pie and baked lemon cheesecake.

This Fry's (Kroger) store has been in this location at least 15 years. In all that time, I don't recall them having to resort to putting up a huge banner to get employees. A sign of the times.

Digitised image from the Town Hall Photographer's Collection - GB127.M850
The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.
The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.
The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.
The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.
What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.
A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.
This album represents the result of their work to date.
Thanks to Chris Larking of North Somercotes for these adverts of the Woolpack pub/ Hubbard bros garage in North Somercotes Lincolnshire.
I guess these are taken from the 1980's, appearing that the garage has recently been taken over.
In the advert image we can clearly see an open air forecourt with what looks to me like Butler branding on the pumps but not 100% certain.
Later the garage became Exchange Garage with sales of fuel ending in 2001 and today a Lincolnshire Co-op foodstore occupies the site.

Removal of uprooted tree in our street after the storms that hit Britain all yesterday and last night (i.e. during Monday December 23rd 2012), Herne Hill, London.
I had just been wondering if the gales had affected any trees around our area, when, as I walked down our street, I caught sight of this. I only had my smart phone with me, and the light was really poor, even though it was the middle of the day, so picture definition is pretty fuzzy in spite of my efforts to sharpen it a bit.
The tree evidently broke the decorative balustraded parapet of the frontage, and perhaps some of the roof, so there'll be a fairly hefty and specialised repair to do on that. But amazingly, none of the windows or the rest of the frontage were damaged. I guess things could have been far more serious if the tree hadn't previously been pollarded to remove many of its side-branches. The shop (Andrew's Foodstore) is a popular grocer and greengrocer run by a Greek father and son. The son is the man in dark blue on the L of the pair on the R. contemplating the damage. Usually, the shop owners put stalls out across the pavement as far as the bollards, laden with fruit and vegetables, but they obviously couldn't open at all today, while the tree was being cleared.

for COMMUTE ROUTE set:
SERIES 1. MY USUAL ROUTE (& POINTS IN COMMON TO ALL ROUTES).
We had just had some storms and this tree was blown down in the night before I saw this as I walked down our street here, on the way to work. Here, I'm heading for Brockwell Park at the end of the road, just beyond the railway bridge (L).
My standard outward commuting route:
home > (walk) > Rosendale Road > (walk) > Brockwell Park > (walk) > Herne Hill station > (National Rail suburban service) > London Victoria station > (District/Circle Line) > South Kensington > (walk) > Natural History Museum.

Pazzo Marco Gelato and Sobetto Cart
39250 South Highway One
Gualala, Mendocino County, California
On many Friday and Saturdays you can find the Pazzo Marco Gelato & Sorbetto Cart in front of Surf Market. They sell cones and small containers of their product to the many weekend shoppers.
At the Pazzo Marco Creamery Marco and Paul make the best gelato & sorbetto I have ever had. I always get some of their sorbetto whenever I can (it almost always sells out) am in Gualala. They make many flavors. My biggest issue is that it usually sells out in the market so I can not always get it. It is sold in Surf Market and the area's best restaurants.

Developments from the 1990’s and the 70’s have dramatically altered the skyline of this part of Claughton Road. When originally laid out, Claughton Road used to flow onto Conway Street outside the Birkenhead Elementary School (the tower of which can be seen in the background). Now, all traffic has to use Hemmingford Street as Claughton Road now runs into a car-park and a bus-only road which runs out of Birkenhead Bus Station. Since this photo was taken, the Kwik-Save Foodstore has closed leaving the building empty and derelict; A symbol of Birkenhead’s continual downward spiral in my view.
