My first photograph of this flying cat, laid up in Piraeus under a rather appropriate advertising board.
After having some 'flying bird' photos, I thought I'd try some more 'flying cat' photos. Amazing how hard cats can launch into something they are chasing.

Piraeus harbour after a storm had just passed. A double-rainbow hangs over Flyingcat 6, Flyingcat 4, Highspeed 2 and Highspeed 3.
During the busy Easter "rush" - 2 vessels in the harbour at once! Aqua Jewel, the 'new' NEL boat is departing for Naxos while the Flying Cat arrives from Crete.
Most of the Hellenic Seaways highspeed fleet were in Piraeus, preparing for the summer season. Just three pictured here - behind Flyingcat 6 are Highspeed 2 and Highspeed 3. In the distance or Sardinia Vera and Daliana.
Looking like she's making heavy work of the rough seas, Flyingcat 3 approaches Naxos port with part of the island of Paros in the background. For once I'm glad I was on land today.

Departing for the mainland on the first day of scheduled service this summer for this vessel. She actually visited Paros a few days earlier to ferry stranded passengers to Mykonos due to the mechanical problem with Flyingcat 4.

Just after a storm over the harbour in Piraeus, a double-rainbow with the secondary faintly visible to the far left. From right to left:- JetFerry1, Highspeed 4, Flyingcat 2, Seastar and Superjet all laid up for the winter.
The flying cat with blur was done by swinging the cat during a 1/4 second exposure and using second curtain flash synch. Removed the chain from the head in Photoshop, and rotated the image.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... "

This is a set of photos I took some 10 years ago at my home in Lisbon, with an old point&shoot Kodak.
My Toy loved to jump around the house, always seeking the highest points ...
For 12 years he was a faithful loving friend and companion. He was The Master of the House :-) and he definitely filled it with his presence.
He will always be there... and with us.
Thank you so much, Toy, for having been with us and for those 12 years of joy and tenderness!
I do hope you come to meet me one day... at the Rainbow Bridge.
