I found this when I was going through some old files the other day. Taken with a borrowed 20D and 70-200, I hadn't been to BDA in 20 years and my enthusiasm for photography was renewed during moments like this.
I added a couple of new tools to my kit this fall. Panning with a gimbal mounted on a sturdy tripod is now something I can do and it was great fun to set up and spend some time tracking and capturing some of the Snow Geese at Bosque del Apache this past weekend

Since I’m relegated to working “Andro in Orlando” for Halloween this weekend, I had to post another “costume” motivated shot.

Northern Pintail launching. It was great fun catching this and other shots one afternoon just inside the entrance to Bosque del Apache
Early mornings first light illuminating the wings of this pair of snow geese as they take to the sky. They were taking off to the North/Northeast just off the axis of the sun and just as the sun was beginning to illuminate the water's surface. A spectacular combination of angles. Bosque del Apache
This has been sitting in the edit queue for almost a year. Male American Kestrel taking flight. He was perched for a long time and I was about to pull my eye from the viewfinder when he took off.

A Northern Harrier Hawk I watched for over an hour as it hunted gliding and hovering just above the tall grass.
Another morning shot from Bosque del Apache, getting around to edits that haven't been done while I concentrated on another project.
This lovely little bird stayed around for a couple of hours yesterday, mostly with her back towards me.This was one of the few times that she faced me.
This is my first attempt at a a blur shooting the geese in low light I thought I would try a longish exposure as they took off. 429 in explore 12/14/2013

The furnace light of dawn at Bosque del Apache. The snow geese arose from fields and ponds West and South of here on this day and the rush of wings was muted by the distance. Still, to see the sky thick with black silhouettes against such boldness is enthralling.

Getting ready to turn in before a weekend of photography at Bosque del Apache and happened to open the photo files in Lightroom on my laptop where I came across a memory cards worth of unedited images from 2013. Between last weekends Bosque and Modeling shoot in downtown Albuquerque, this, and whatever I get this weekend I will be busy editing into the new year!
Meadow Larks are one of my favorite birds. So catching a couple of them at close range was a real treat.
Home from a cold overcast weekend at Bosque del Apache. Since the weekend was kind of a blur I though I'd post one for your enjoyment while I catch up!
