This was my competition entry for KAPiNed10 as I wanted to show another side of Kinderdijk. All the work of the beautiful windmills is now done by these machines! This pump shares the same visual transparecy of the windmills (you can see how it works from the outside). This pump is powered by electricity and diesel, not wind so the energy balance is very different but windmills (old & new) are industrial machines too! www.kinderdijk.com/historie.htm
This shot was also a case of making the best of where you are; I was pinned to the spot with dozens of kites between me and where I wanted to go!

Maiden flight in a stiff 4-5Bft wind (25-30km/h 45km/h gusts). Not all 8 vent holes were made yet - only just 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top, so the kite was swinging from left to right during gusts .
Also the closing seam of the trailing edge and the sides of the jet chute was sewn in a hurry with a rough zig-zag stitch. Needs to be redone properly.

I needed a decent shot of a KAP kite in flight for my new website, but everything I had was taken from the other end of the kite line, which is definitely not the flowform's best angle.
So before sending the SLR rig up under the 30# for a much higher shoot, I took a few low-level shots of the 16#. I liked this one the best.
