This guy risked his life climbing over a dangerous fence to get the best POV of the flooded river. I kept my distance and just shot him!
Aurora, Indiana is flooded. One of the hardest hit cities along the Ohio River. The river crested last night but the waters will take weeks to get back to normal.
How do you flood a room? Undoubtedly there are many ways, but when your studio is on the second floor of a once-abandoned building, still partially derelict, you do not bring the water to the studio. You bring the studio to the water.

For my final image of my Fourth Wall series, I gathered a small crew of friends and tore down my little room that I had so lovingly built. We carried it downstairs to the parking lot where we had set up a 15 foot pool, about 4 feet high. It took the whole day to fill the pool and to disassemble and reassemble the room, but we did. By the end of it, my little room was rebuilt inside of water, and the room looked flooded.
The last shoot. There was something so cathartic about that shoot. I modeled for it myself and I remember floating on m back, looking at the light blue evening sky, not hearing anything around me while my ears were muffled by the water. It was the perfect ending to a year spent focusing on where my art could go and how far I could push myself.
Local flooding January 2021
The Whittlesey Washes south of the River Nene near Peterborough is a large area of open land, surrounded by embankments, which act as a flood storage reservoir when high tides and high river levels coincide. More than 35,000,000 cubic metres of water can be stored on the area, then released back into the river Nene as the tide recedes.

Yesterdays heavy rain has caused the fields to flood. Looked nice in the late afternoon sunshine. Once I got over having to walk through ankle deep water. In trainers.
Flooded cornfield. Water was muddy colored. Two tone work in Photoshop with raw file. Lens was Rokinon 14mm F2.8
Not a real bridge has 10 pipes under the road, they block up water runs over the top. Not very deep but fast moving.
I had the background picture which was at the mouth of the Ipswich River. No flood - just high tide. The sky and water came out ok, but the land in the distance needed help. Instead, I started putting things in the water to keep the land in the background. This looked the most interesting.
Chittagong the second largest city in Bangladesh has been hit repeatedly by monsoon rain and landslides in recent years. Heavy monsoon rain has aggravated the situation in the low-lying area of port city Chittagong. The tidal flood devastated many parts of city and making untold misery for local inhabitants. Images of the Bangladesh flood include photos of frantic rescue efforts, pictures of helpless residents, and shots of the crippling destruction.

50+mm of rain in less than 20 hours and high tide, results in this!
Not very often you see the ramp (white lattice structure) to the floating dock level, or going slightly uphill!

Phra Pradaeng fresh-food market is located by the Chao Phraya River in Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan, Thailand. The market is regularly flooded during high tide every morning.
Flood update.
Much of NSW from the north coast to below Sydney has been inundated with massive rains followed by flooding.
It has been claimed that this is a 1 in 50 year flood disaster and with flood waters devastating towns it could be correct.
Camden is currently preparing for what may eventuate in the next few hours as waters come downstream from the Nepean River.
This was at Cowpasture Bridge at between 1117-1125h this morning.
SES volunteers were confirming the current height but at this the river still had some considerable height to gain before it would reach the bottom of the bridge.
At the present time the SES are adopting a watch, wait and react scenario.
Obviously this situation can/will change over the next few hours.

Flooding from the latest atmospheric river storm has impacted the flatlands in Gilroy, California, southern Santa Clara County
The powerful winter storms have blasted Northern California with strong winds and heavy rain.
This flatland area is located along the highway (California Highway 152) at the western end of Pacheco Pass. Pacheco Pass is a low mountain pass located in the Diablo Range in Santa Clara County, California. It is the main route through the hills separating the Santa Clara Valley and the Central San Joaquin Valley.

December 2015 Weather
A stormy and warm December was the wettest month for the UK in more than a century, provisional Met Office figures show.
It was also the warmest since records began in 1910, with temperatures around 7.9C (46F), making it feel more like a day in April or May.
Overall, 2015 was the sixth wettest year, data showed.
Record amounts of rain fell in storm-hit Scotland, Wales and the north west of England.
The Met Office says there is a direct link between the warmth and the record rains that brought widespread floods across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England.
Storms propelled by the jet stream were mainly to blame, it says, with contributions from the El Nino weather phenomenon and man-made climate change.
December was something of a freak month, it acknowledges. Climate change has raised UK temperatures by around 1C (1.8F) so far, so it will be many decades before this level of extreme weather becomes the new winter norm, it says.
Other scientists say that with climate change, there will be no "normal" weather.
The Met Office has said storms Desmond, Eva and Frank were behind the record rainfall, while a humid south-westerly airflow kept it warm.
Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and northern England bore the brunt of the storms, as central and southern England escaped the worst of it.

5am wake up call and I was off to Framlingham Mere in Suffolk. The plan was to hopefully capture the sun rising from behind Framlingham Castle. Arrived in the dark with plenty of time to spare, but was greeted by a very muddy and flooded mere, caused by the relentless rain and run off from the surrounding fields into the streams. As I don't know the place too well, I could only take photos from the new shore line as I didn't know where the stream and lake were hiding.
The Ohio River rose and washed out part of the new dam and closed the Old Lawrenceburg Road that crosses the area. Great for hiking and Great Blue Heron sighting though. The contractor has started repairing the dam.
Looking Eastward across the Ottawa River to the shores of Western Québec. Gatineau is one of the hardest hit municipalities in this year's flood.
The Kalyazin Bell Tower is a Neoclassical campanile rising to a height of 74.5 metres over the waters of the Uglich Reservoir on the Volga River opposite the old town of Kalyazin, in Tver Oblast, northwestern Russia. It was an amazing sight!

Truck Thursday
I came across this photo from nearly 3 years ago. I remember this day so well. We got nearly 2 1/2" of rain all at once. The town was in the midst of redoing the culverts on our street but they hadn't gotten to us yet. This was a lot of rain to fall in such a short period of time! It seemed weird since we had just moved from New Mexico 2 months previous and hadn't seen this much rain in years!
