(Amazona leucocephala, caymanensis)

Grand Cayman

Seagulls paint the sky with flight,

In sunset's warm and vibrant light.

They weave through rays, both bold and bright,

A dance of freedom at dusk's sight.

An oystercatcher flying over a sun drenched sea loch.

A bit of fun in photoshop. I'm still practicing the art of blending images, a work in progress.

The nest was about 4-5 m (15 ft) to camera left, and this little goldfinch had just taken it's maiden flight. Mama took awhile to bring it some food, so it sat there and nodded off. Centre Wellington, Ontario. August17, 2022.

Dark-Eyed Junco.

A sparrow-sized bird at 5 to 6 1/2 inches long. Variable but generally slate-gray or gray-brown above with a white abdomen sharply separated from the gray of the breast and a pink bill. The white along the sides of the tail shows in flight. Some birds have buff flanks. Birds of the dominent western form, the "Oregon Junco", have black hoods and rufous backs. The form breeding in the Black Hills, the "White-winged Junco", has white wing bars and more white in the tail.

Their habitat consists of coniferous or mixed forests. They winter in fields, gardens, city parks and roadside thickets.

They range from Alaska to Newfoundland and south to Mexico in the west and Georgia in the east. They winter south to the Gulf Coast and into northern Mexico.

Flight Training at Ocean City, New Jersey

It was interesting to watch the adult glossy encourage their fledglings to fly away from the heronry. The youngsters would follow one or sometime both parents who would carefully guide them on short flights over the marsh and back to the trees.

It reminded of when I took the training wheels off my kid,s bicycle

The Arwen flight to Aberdeen that i ended up in Inverness with. Glad to get off it! 3 hours late in departing, aborted landing and divert to Inverness. Anyone been on the Dragon at Siam waterpark in Tenerife? Well i thought that was bad.....

I Declined the opportunity to try to land in Aberdeen again after refueling.

Between reality and phantasy

( from my balcony)

I went to the cliffs a little later this morning. (I wanted to sleep longer.)

The overcast skies were clearing and I was able to get some juvenile flight shots.

Unfortunately I missed the shot of the parent who flew directly by me with food. I just didn't see it in time.

from mistley a great place for flight shots with the right light and tide

Came out of the closet yesterday (have been painting, closets, et al) and went outside.

Looked up into this flight of fancy.

And for a moment......took to the air.

after finding out quickly I had single shot set and not getting focus...It's almost like I have to learn this all over again,

Hope everyone is well.
