When nothing worries you and happiness lifts you up high above the clouds. That is the right feeling to say that we are light as a feather.
Take your shot today or in the coming days and submit it to the group for a chance to be featured on FlickrBlog next Friday.

This week for Flickr Friday we're on the look out for #Imperfection. Take a photo of something imperfect and showcase that little flaw, quirk, or difference that gives something character. Be sure to tag your photo #Imperfection and submit it to the Flickr Friday group pool. We're looking forward to seeing your interesting shots and unique perspective!

Catch that piece of hose or I'll regret it for the rest of my life. Worse, human will get it before me.
One of my teachers did two tours of Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot. During a mission he was shot in the foot with the bullet shown above. He received the Purple Heart award for being wounded during combat.
Thank you, Chad, for your service and your courage.
A desktop toolkit ... with many more options vying, each day, for a place at the party. #FlickrFriday #toolkit
The #FlickrFriday #Spoon challenge
So, how did I learn photography? Trial and error (mainly the latter) but also through the pages of Practical Photography magazine which sadly this week announced it will no longer be publishing after 61 years. It will be sadly missed.
This photo features one of the first creative techniques it taught me - colour popping. It also features the last - The Flat Lay.
A fancy wooden salad serving spoon, a cherry tomato for a splash of colour, and some parsley were placed on a very well used chopping board in front of a window. A white card reflected the windowlight back onto the scene. Precariously balanced on a chair, I took the photo from above, loaded it into Photoshop and applied various dark arts to tease out texture and create the colour popping which lifted the elements from the board which was a similar colour to the spoon.

These are pieces of Lancaster Delftware Pottery found in an excavation on St. George's Quay in 2007. The museum label says they were in a heap, suggesting they were shards of pots broken because they didn't turn out. They are part of Lancaster City Museum's '100 Objects' exhibition celebrating the 100 years of the museum.
Break the limit of our own body, and do things others could not do. Everyone dreams to be a superman.
Take your best photo for the theme #Superman for this week's #FlickrFriday, and share it in the FlickrFriday group pool. We will feature our favorites in the flickr blog by next Friday.
Cozy - Mr. Sock Monkey looks very cozy with his cup of tea, snuggled under his favourite quilt, even though he is feeling a little under the weather.
We've never met a sunset we didn't like.

We'll publish a selection of our favorites next week on the Flickr Blog.

I have kept a diary on & off (mostly off) for many years but since January 2003 have written every day. Each morning, when I write what I did & thought the day before, I look back on the events of ten years ago.

"Abandon hope, all ye who enter here" - From "Inferno" - Canto III of The Divine Comedy, by Dante
The #FlickrFriday #Underworld challenge
Dante's epic poem describes these words as being an inscription above The Gate of Hell which he explored with Virgil, his guide.
My representation of the entrance to Hell is a combination of photos, all taken today. The Death's Head is atop a gravestone in my local churchyard, the doorway is the entrance to a rabbit hutch and the ground is a paving stone. Various blending techniques in Photoshop were used to combine them on a trial and error basis (mainly the latter), the final result converted to monochrome with grain, a sepia wash and a sinister vignette added.
