A quick flash of stocking top from my sexy wife, before we go out for a pub meal 😍😍

New camera flash and umbrella parts arrived. We tore open the box, set it up and grabbed a few impromptu shots. Older sister wandered off but Eeva sticks around so she gets the glory. She's also cute in her new favorite hat from Ireland.

Strobist info: New silver umbrella directly overhead using new swivel to mount on new stand. Sunpak 411 flash on 1/8th power.

Missy will soon chase Flash away from her while she goes off to give birth to the next generation ... I am very interested in watching the dynamics this year as Flash has travelled with Missy and her 2 twins that are now 2 year olds and possibly pregnant themselves ... could be a big family group joining together in late summer this year!

I used a point and shoot camera (CanonA640) to shoot this BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE.

F=8 because Auto Focus is useless on these fellows. Now he's always in focus.

This proved that you don't need an expensive SLR for small bird flight shots.

Heavy showers were a feature of the afternoon of 12th July across East Anglia. East Midlands Trains Class 158 No. 158774 arrives at Thetford with the 11:52 Liverpool Lime Street – Norwich service during one such shower.

Every year the scorched desert looks to the monsoon rains to get them through another year. The first lightning flashes of the season are symbols of hope to animals and plants alike.

This is the first of Maria's epiphyllum plants to bloom this year. It still boggles my mind that a flower that looks like this comes from a plant that for most of the year is an unimpressive looking cactus leaf.

I photographed this using a YN560-III in a 24 inch softbox at camera left at 8 o'clock. Fill light came from a small mirror at camera right. The flash, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Over the years, I've taken quite a few "Epi" pictures, and they're in my Epiphyllum Flowers album, if you like that sort of thing.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. In the description for that set, I list resources that I've used to learn how to light with off camera flash. www.flickr.com/photos/9422

Borrowed Nick's flash for Rugby 101 and decided to take some shots as well for fun. Thought this outtake showed off the tattoo well.

This is one on our way home after an evening of drinking wine in a bar in Utrecht.. I only had a few... even though I look awfully cheery.. :-P

I really need to get myself a good camera.. because this one needs a big-ass flash to take a photo... hence all the reflections.

And before someone asks... the cats are not in the bag... they stayed home.. ;-)
