Who would have guessed?

Just a fun shot of not much of anything!!

Little test shot, all in camera, cropped and some dust removal.

The soon-to-be released Phottix Strato 4 in 1 2.4 GHz Trigger connected to a Canon 40D. It will trigger flashes and work as a wired or wireless shutter release.

Strobist: On a shooting table: Canon 430 EX 1/2 power, above, into reflective umbrella, Canon 430 EX 1/2 power, below, bare. Canon 580 EXII at 1/4 power at 5 o'clock into reflective umbrella. Trigger with Phottix Strato triggers.

Bella without Flash.

Frustrated by the social distancing guidelines? All you need is to grow a pair a wings and get involved with an ocean going flash mob. No distancing here, just plain old frolicking at the coast.

Green flashes and green rays are optical phenomena that sometimes occur right after sunset or right before sunrise. When the conditions are right, a green spot is visible above the upper rim of the disk of the sun.

The green appearance usually lasts for no more than a second or two. Rarely, the green flash can resemble a green ray shooting up from the sunset (or sunrise) point.

Green flashes occur because the atmosphere can cause the light from the sun to separate out into different colors.

I already knew this... but it is easier to copy and paste from Wikipedia!

A male Anna Hummingbird perches on a snow tipped branch on a bitter cold day and begins flashing his iridescent colors for me. Well, so I'd like to think it was for me! lol

Here's another from last weeks stormy visit to White Pocket. Absolutely amazing place! I have got to go back when there is some decent light. The sun never came out.

This is actually the first time I have ever managed to successfully shoot a lightning strike during daylight. I got a lightning trigger last year that is supposed to trigger your shutter when lightning strikes. It is a useless piece of crap. I did not use it for this. Instead I went with the fairly primitive technique of frantically pressing the shutter button repeatedly every time I saw a flash. Got one!

Captured this photo on my Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. lens.

Il tramonto stasera, con sorpresa uno splendido green flash!

The sunset tonight, surprisingly beautiful green flash!

Something I hope to do more of this coming summer. There's just something about the sheer power of a storm. This shot was taken last summer.

Images taken while on lock down in my self made home studio using items in my house.

Ello Dolls! Can I just say that Titzuki has killed me and brought me back to life again with this fur! I mean gurl...guuuuuurl. lmfao I just love it so much. It's feeding my inner Barbie. This was fun to put together and I love the way my pictures captured all the items. Such amazing quality in all the brands I featured. I hope you all enjoy. 💋

Happy Shopping! xoxo

Macro Mondays theme: Monday, September 18th theme - then and now, before and after, yesterday and today...

Tried a few things for this theme after rumaging through my little box of memorabilia - ie "STUFF" - my biggest problem was to get into the "3-inch rule" limit. Had to use a ruler to make sure I cropped to the 3" limit.

This image has a my old iPhone, an older flash and something you may not recognize - a disposable Flash Cube. These compact little pieces were developed in the 1960's by Kodak for their Instamatic series of cameras and with an adapter you could actually use them on SLR's. I tried to include the adapter, but couldn't get it in because of the 3" rule.

Happy Macro Monday to all ...

Finally got round to painting last sheet of flash in the set. The other sheets are meant to be this colour as well but scanner wasn't working before so I had to use my rubbish camera.

Starting to get some results with the flash.

For Macro Mondays theme "Photography Gear”, this is the diffusion lens on my external flash. This lens distributes the light more evenly over the frame. At the bottom you can see part of another piece, which can be pulled out and down to provide a softer diffused light. In this shot it is just sitting in its holder.
