SMU15 #flashbackfriday: On 9 February 2006, SMU and the Lien Foundation set up Asia’s first centre for social innovation, to foster new alliances and facilitate solutions to strengthen the non-profit sector. Named the Lien Centre for Social Innovation, the centre aims to be a thought leader and catalyst for positive social change in Singapore and beyond. The Lien Foundation donated $6 million over a five-year period to fund the establishment of the centre. For more SMU milestones, please visit bit.ly/1vgd15G #sgSMU15.

1945-46 i think. #flashbackfriday my grandmother lucille. or as her husband (my step-grandfather) called her: sassafras. she was a telephone switchboard operator for 25 years for Ma Bell - through the war and beyond. she loved cats, knitting, lavendar and candy. when i was 6 and we lived in Cali, she hand-washed a girly cardigan sweater she bought (at sears) and i promptly took it outside, took the end of each sleeve and jump roped with it. my a$$ was never the same.
