Another nice video very spectacular.
I've been wanting to try another can of flaming hairspray but hairspray is expensive. I bought some cans of it from the dollar store but they didn't burn. then I tried deodorant from the same place. It burned when I sprayed some into a torch but not when I shot it.
I had a thought that maybe butane lighter refills would be a good idea. they where a lot cheaper than hairspray so I bought two. For some amazing reason the first one I tried did not burn. The second however really did the job. I underexposed the video pretty much to keep the flame from saturating the camera.
Cheers.
…and hungry to, a meadowhawk dragonfly in flaming color, getting ready for a little snack attack…
-not sure if this is a ruby meadow hawk, or a cherry-faced, both of them look so alike to me-

Flaming House (House on Fire)
The next day we visited three iconic sites on Cedar Mesa. We were rained on as we crossed Comb Ridge and passed through Bluff. The rain stopped as we re-crossed Comb Ridge to the North and arrived at our first stop at Mule Canyon. This is a great hike and of course, the ruins are spectacular! Unfortunately, the clouds prevented the morning sun from casting a warm glow that makes this even more dramatic but I adjusted the white balance a little to help.

This was the spectacular sunrise at Cronulla this morning. I was lucky enough to find a small pool of still water to get a nice reflection of it in the same shot.
The Flaming Mountains (Chinese: 火焰山; pinyin: huǒyànshān) or Gaochang Mountains are barren, eroded, red sandstone hills in the Tian Shan of Xinjiang. They lie near the northern rim of the Taklamakan Desert and east of the city of Turpan. Their striking gullies and trenches caused by erosion of the red sandstone bedrock give the mountains a flaming appearance at certain times of the day
I took a similar photo during the same session at the Japanese Gardens in Portland using my K10D. Surprisingly, Kodachrome had a difficult time with the bright oranges and yellows and I had to take particular care in scanning and post processing to get a decent digital version.

I really like this Gerbera, even though, at first, I thought the colours were a bit too outrageous...
