My wrist a handy sketch subject, I thought I'd also commemorate its new addition.

New Fitbit One is a lot smaller than the old original. Hopefully more durable too.

Super Produkt.

Photography for our #healthhacks Win A Fitbit campaign from 2014.

I asked for a fitbit as a birthday present on a bit of a whim, and I've surprised myself with how much I'm enjoying it. Essentially it is just a fancy pedometer, but in sync with the iphone app it provides all manner of geeky statistics as to the manner and distribution of those steps. I'm finding it really interesting to see how I'm doing against the daily 10k step target, and to see how it correlates with my mood. I've found myself popping out for brisk evening walks, or walking places I'd otherwise have driven to. And of course it fits in really nicely with the running (final week of c25k now!) - a morning run usually gets me over halfway to the step target before breakfast. And I've enjoyed the challenges with friends as well. All in all, there isn't much bad to be said about it, and although today's total was a bit woeful (it did improve after this photo), I'm still glowing from having hit over 40,000 steps during our weekend at Eurodisney.

This year the #SHRMFoundation hosted a #Fitbit step challenge to raise awareness of the Foundation at #SHRM16. Attendees who were able to BreaktHRough 50,000 steps received medals at the SHRM Foundation booth on Tuesday of the conference. The read out from my Fitbit Flex fitness tracker… 3 Cresta Run rides, 3 hours of skiing and a 7km Preda Bergün toboggan run this evening followed by a 2k run to catch a train. All off-set by some beer. And some wine.

Phone fell out my pocket and hit my bicycle (before the tarmac) last week… so it's seen better days before you ask.

Here's the Preda Bergun run

Probably not ever do this again - getting my fitbit "Sparkles" (10,000 steps) 22 days in a row like this. Its not actually such a big deal for most folks, but sure is for me!

This setup consists of a HD-S (high speed green) phosphor screen, and a 90kV, 15 milliamp real X-ray tube with a 1.5 amp 12 volt hot cathode.

I took the photo running the tube at 60kV and around 2 milliamps.

The exposure took 30 seconds, and the green phosphor shadow was post-processed to turn it into the more recognisable negative cyan X-ray transparency.

I use an old 20D camera because X-rays DO in fact damage CCD's as I found an increasing number of hot pixels on my new camera when I first started making X-ray images.

The dock is more than a charging point. It can wirelessly get the data from tracker and send to fitbit.com.

I forgot to take my Fitbit off before I washed it. This is a graph of the Fitbit's ride through the gentle cycle.

Remarkably, the Fitbit still works!

He's only had it for one day so far but I'm hopeing to see what his activity level is like. So far it shows he's pretty lazy. His activity is going to twitter @TigerTimmy
